Ian Holloway offers a few opinions on the upcoming Championship season on the BBC site. About QPR, he says "My old side QPR are one of the bookies' tips for the drop but I think they will be fine."
http://www.qpr.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~1086711,00.html Simon Walton underwent surgery for a transverse fracture of his left fibula -- they inserted a plate and two pins. The story doesn't estimate whether he'll play this season. Bad news for Walton and the club. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
We lost 0-1 to Reading today in a closed-door scrimmage on a Bobby Convey free kick that our keeper got a hand to, but couldn't stop (no word on whether it was Camp). The Reading site (link below) notes that Cullip, Bignot, Nygaard, and Nardiello played, but don't report the strength of our squad otherwise. They do say their keeper was "rarely tested." Great news that Cullip and Biggie were able to get some game action prior to the opener. From their play-by-play it looks like we were better in the second half, but not particularly dangerous. John Gregory has named Adam Bolder club captain for this season. Probably a good move as Bolder seems to have taken a leadership role and will likely be an everpresent. Biggie seems like the kind of guy who won't take this too personally -- he took over the role for the second half of last season after Gallen was loaned out, but he may be in and out of the lineup this year. I think Bolder will prove a good choice.
