Ok,time to open a new season thread and start to talk about transfers.

And Udinese started making signs from everywhere.Actually Udinese signed :

And sold Valerio Bertotto to Siena.

Gyan Asamoah is a nice player, also Bogdani.I think Udinese needs now a playmaker, since after David Pizarro departure no one could make this work.

There's talk that Iaquinta might go to Roma.

It's good that Gyan is there because he will be united with compatriot Muntari and he has pace.

If Juve, Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina get relegated that will mean that Inter, Roma and Palermo will play in the CL. In that case, Udinese will get a UEFA Cup spot because Inter, Roma and Palermo were the other semi-finalists in the Coppa Italia and they would be in the CL instead.

Gyan ain't good for serie A.
besides, how many of those new signings will actually make the roster next season? I guess most will be loaned out

He will probably have a few good games against weaker opposition like Atalanta and Catania.

Bonizzoni, would Udinese be able to afford Enzo Maresca?

I think yes.Udinese earned good money with "compropietà" players - about 5 mi Euros with some players and now Udinese sold Pieri e Quagliarella to Sampdoria using this type of sell. Also Handanovic...

Udinese also bought D'Agostino now,so I think we're fixing our Midfield very well.

About Gyan Asamoah...I don't know,if we return to our 3-4-3 he could make a fantastic trio with Iaquinta and Di Natale.Anyway,if Iaquinta goes to Roma,Udinese could be smart and get Mido IMO.

And www.udinese.it list of players :

I would like Maresca to come back to Italy and if he was interested in going to Udine, maybe he can make his presence felt.

I think Asamoah Gyan has everything needed to be successful in serie A so long as he is worked with on composure... he can finish but seems to snatch at basic chances.. when he concentrates i.e. vs the Czechs and in many games for Ghana he can finish but I think concetration is the key which can be coached... his dribbling and movement are up to scratch as shown in his international matches and the WC finals.... I think there is plenty to come and I think he potentially could get double figures in serie A this season... lets be honest most defences in Serie A won't be as good as Italy's/ Brazils.. and vs the Czechs he ran riot... the Czech defence are more like a typical Serie A defence.. Italy's is more a Milan/Juve thing same as Brazil!!!

Since Empoli didn't get the UEFA License,Udinese are the next team in line to get the spot.I don't know if they have the conditions to do it fast, but since Udinese have more experience with Euro competitions,I don't know.

A UEFA spot could be nice at this rate.

I thought AC Milan were going to take Empoli's place or have Milan been banned from all European competitions?

That would be great if Udinese got UEFA!!!! Can't see why Milan should get it if they are supposed to be banned!!! What is happening with the Sales of Asamoah, Muntari and Iaquinta... it seems your board wants to keep them all for a push for the title!!!!! Not unrealistic in a way.. barring Inter/Roma certainly top far is more than realistic!!!!

I don't know.A curious point is that Ascoli is facing the same problems as Empoli,so both Udin and Milan could get the spots I think.

Anyway,if Milan isn't banned...they will get the thing.

Udinese bought Schumacher from Ascoli. At least he has a name of someone who usually wins :D

If Udinese buys a good playmaker, tha Scudetto can be a real target IMO.Without one Udinese will fight for a CL spot.

Well, they bought Gaetano D'Agostino from Messina, who's a pretty good playmaker, and they have Di Natale who can also create. I don't know about the Scudetto, but they may be challenging for the CL spots.

Udinese always trying to buy new names and make money with them after.I like it,but sometimes we could try to get some known players to help...anyway,Montiel played last game against Genoa, and here's a pic :

The curious thing is that Udinese won the tournament and he scored a goal against Vicenza :

    LAURITO Federico Raul A 18/05/1990

Gianpaolo Pozzo said that they don't want to pay a lot of cash to play at Friuli Stadium this season. He said that Euganeo stadium,at Padova, could be an option if the bid that Udinese wants to pay (about 100k Euros) would be rejected.

Why is the Udine council being a bunch of tightarses? Is it because of the low attendances?

Udinese went out of Coppa Italia after losing against Arezzo at PK's.

Muntari scored first, than Arezzo drawed with Floro Flores at 42' s.t.

And Arezzo won with a 7-6 result.

Udinese played without Di Natale,Iaquinta and Barreto.

That alone is a good enough excuse to explain why Udinese lost.

Udinese loses to Messina 1-0. Marco Zanchi gave the Sicilians the lead near the end.
