    During the off-season, all of the confirmed Sampdoria transfers will be posted here and obviously when the season starts, results and other news will be discussed here.

    Christian Vieri has signed a one-year deal with la doriana:

    Wikipedia also has its page on Sampdoria updated:

    Aside from Vieri, the other additions to Samp's squad are Pietro Accardi (Palermo) and Gennaro Del Vecchio (Lecce).

    The departures include Max Tonetto (Roma), Marco Pisano (Palermo), Vitali Kutuzov (Parma) and Francesco Antonioli and Marcello Castellini (Bologna).

    Aimo Diana has gone to Palermo. He will be a loss for i doriani because he was always a threat on the right-wing. I didn't want him to leave.

    Sampdoria might end up letting go of Vieri.

    http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jul27e.html

    There are talks of Cristiano Lucarelli going to i doriani. If the club can get him, there shouldn't be a problem with any of the strikers. Bazzani, Flachi and Bonazzoli are more than capable finishers. Now it is a matter of getting a replacement for Aimo Diana.

    In a Round One Coppa Italia match, Doria beat Benevento 2-0 thanks to goals by Bonazzoli and Quagliarella.

    Emiliano Bonazzoli has been called up to the Azzurri team. I'd like to see him get some matchtime.

    Here's the probable line-up for the match against Empoli:

    Castellazzi;
    C.Zenoni, Palombo, Falcone, Pieri;
    Oliveira, Delvecchio, Volpi, Bonanni;
    Bonazzoli, Flachi

    Bonazzoli and Flachi should be a good attacking duo and Flachi and Delvecchio have been good in the pre-season. Diana is a loss but hopefully Oliveira is better now than what he was at Juve.

    Sampdoria loses 2-1 to Empoli.

    Bazzani gave them the lead, but Empoli tied it, and then scored on a PK to win.

    I doriani scored a nice goal. Flachi did well to set up Bonazzoli for the goal but it was a shame that Delvecchio and Falcone got sent off and also Flachi had a goal disallowed for offside towards the end.

    Inter 1-1 Sampdoria

    A creditable performance from Sampdoria, drawing at the San Siro. Inter wasted many chances and Castellazzi also had a good game. Sampdoria has set a negative club record, going winless in their last 15 matches.

    Bonanni, can you head the ball in the right direction next time?

    He didn't even head it. It hit his shoulder and went in. Freak goal.

    Winless in 15? That's really appalling!

    And considering how this goal was scored I am sure most of the players and staff look at this one as a loss as well!

    No doubt about it!

    Novellino did well in his first few years as Doria coach but he might need to leave soon. The last year or so has been a disappointment and despite the pre-season form, the team's Serie A form has been dismal to say the least.

    Udinese won at home against Toro and drew the last time they played at the Marassi. The omens don't look good.

    Winless in 16 but having come from 0-3 down to 3-3 sure must have felt like a win today!

    Sampdoria are in more trouble now. Winless in 16 matches and now this. Novellino should see the sack coming soon as Flachi has been a vital goalscorer for the team in the last three Serie A seasons.

    16 winless matches !!
    i think Cosmi has the record number (26 winless times ) !!

    i liked Novellino during the first appearance for Smap in 2004 , but lately turned out to be "barren" coach !

    i don't know what the adminstration of Samp is waiting for ?

    Novellino's side was good at the SanSiro against Inter. also, the way they came back to net Udinese's goal three times to ONLY equalize the game.
    but, losing to Empoli home is irritating the fans !

    Is Cosmi's record the Serie A record?

    Sampdoria 3-2 Parma

    Finally, i doriani win!

    Gennaro Delvecchio has been in good form and he has also been selected for the Azzurri's next two Euro 2008 qualifiers.

    Quagliarella scored again today, that's his 4th this season. Just think, if Flachi wasn't suspended he'd be on the bench getting no playing time. Funny how it worked out. The 2 goals he scored on Sunday were class.
