1. goalkeepers can use their hands in BOTH AREAS. this would up the ante on sending keepers to the opponents box....still probably wouldnt apply in many games but imagine the wild plays that would ensue!! 2. passes that originate in possessing team's defensive half CANNOT BE OFFSIDE. right now, its just the receiver of the pass starting own defensive half cannot be offside...but i think extending it to passer would not give much advantage to offense...but just make it more risky defensively. offside rule is cool and all...but sometimes its so lame and way too strict...like when a deflection off of defensive hustle bounces to a teammate standing offside... regardless, i just think that if you are more than half the field away from goal, anything should be fair game... if you are good enough to hit a 50 yard pass on a dime...then offside shouldnt apply, if you ask me. plus, i think it would put extra pressure on bunkering teams...and i hate bunkering. whether you like these ideas or not...i think it might be fun to discuss their possibility. thoughts??
Make rule change 1 that the GK can score the equivalent of a rugby try to receive one goal and the GK's team is awarded a kick from the mark for a second goal. However, the GK can only hold the ball in hands for 6 seconds, and the defending team can rugby-style tackle him. Instead of rule change 2, just adopt the old NASL 35-yard offside rule.
Pure idiocy Your first proposed rule is, quite possibly, the stupidest thing ever proposed on You Be the Don. And that is saying something. Proposed Rule changes: Rule 1: @adam tash, cannot propose ANY rule changes. That is all. Close this thread.
Wait I feel left out. I would propose that all players can use their hands in the area, provided the only perform volleyball style spikes a la "Hat Trick Rick" any non VB spike handball results in a penalty. That would be so totally awesome. That is all
