    Here's tonight's results:

    Greuther Fürth - Wehen/Wiesbanden 1:1 (1:1)
    Köln - Offenbach 4:1 (2:1)
    Jena - 1860 München 0:2 (0:0)

A new BL record was installed at Playmobil stadium this evening:

The Fürth goalie Sascha Kirschstein conceded the earliest goal in the whole 1+2 Bundesliga history (Wehen's Siegert scored after just 7 seconds)!

Did Kirschstein's defense (or lack thereof) had something to with it too??

I can proudly claim that the goal was scored by a former Braunschweig player against a former Braunschweig keeper.

So basically, the record is ours.

Hey thought I'd pop in and see you guys :) We're enjoying ourselves in 1.Liga, but I'm still been keeping an eye on 2.Liga.

Seems like Wiesbaden are emulating the KSC start. And what is going on at FCK?

i think we all expected this to happen when the new 3rd bundesliga was coming into place...i remember reading about this relegation stuff a while back.

Let's just hope we can be in 1st liga next season and not have to worry about it...although man it's gonna be incredibly exciting to see a team fight for survival and a team fight for promotion of the 1st liga....

    can't wait :D

That's not bad news for 2. Liga clubs. That's bad news for the club that finishes third.

And I think you're nuts if you think the 1. Liga team will win all the time.

I sure as hell would have liked Duisburg's chances against Mainz last season.....

    Ok, that's what I meant. ;)

Of course there will be also a lot of teams which are happy with this change...

I think the only people who will not be happy with the change will be the teams who finish third in the 2. Liga from next season on.

    I can't wait for it.

I also think it will help to stop all the "tanking" of matches you see near the end of the season when a team has clinched a spot in the top three. Like near the end of last season, KSC really stopped trying once they knew they could not fall below third place.

Teams can't do that after next season until they clinch a spot in the top two.

I love it. And you won't have something like that disgusting "lovefest" two seasons ago between Aachen and Bochum when they both had already clinched spots in the top three anymore.

Well, at least not as many......

And on Top of the 2 Derbys you will get the games in Hoffenheim and Wehen both of whom will just be overrun by awayfans of nearby Mainz and Kaiserslautern respectively.

    Should be an entertaining matchday.

Damn, you are right! Wehen/Wiesbaden vs Mainz is a derby, too...

I'm curious whether the game in Gladbach or in Munich will top the current attendance record of this season (50,300). Normally I suppose it would be a sold-out Borussia-Park (54,000) ... but I heard that the Löwen have already sold 52,000 tickets for the derby against Fürth.

I think it depends on the home team's sponsor. I remember an UMBRO ball having been kicked in Fürth last season (since UMBRO was the official jersey sponsor at that time)...

The home team is responsible for balls used for each match.

In many cases, as "Borussia" said, if the home team's equipment sponsor makes footballs too, that sponsor's ball will be used.

I think the answer to your question is there is no "official" brand of ball in the Bundesliga. The league only cares about the balls being official size and weight.

The brand of ball used for each match is decided by the home team.
