Sales within the league are usually for GAM, never real money. So, there is nothing to split with the league. The change effects things in that you can now get as much GAM from a sale out of the league as the largest in league sales have brought in. In the future, selling Zimmerman to Freiberg for $2MM will make more sense than selling him to Nashville for $1MM in GAM.
