QF1: Xelajú MC - CF Monterrey QF2: Houston Dynamo - Santos Laguna QF3: Tigres UANL - Seattle Sounders QF4: CS Herediano - LA Galaxy SF1: Winner QF4 - Winner QF1 SF2: Winner QF3 - Winner QF2 Should be interesting, not a single domestic series.
MLS schadenfreude aside, the elimination of Chivas has little impact on the quarterfinal dynamics in my opinion. I for one would favor Monterrey over Chivas as well. Same goes for the rest of the tournament. Things don't get easier for the others just because there is one less Mexican team. This CCL will still most likely have a Mexican winner.
Any early predictions? Hard not to see the three LMX clubs in the semis. As for CS Herediano and the Galaxy, much depends on Heredia's ability to keep their team together with all the financial problems they are going through. If they can do so I put this one at 50-50.
I got Santos. Sucks Chivas are out. We are not very good this year, but since the QF are not till after the January window maybe we could have strengthened the squad...Oh well.
Seattle has no chance, zero, zip, nada! Fredy Montero better just use the opportunity to get Salcido´s John Hancock!!
Well, Tigres missed the Apertura Liguilla so hopefully that will put some pressure on Tuca to play the first team in March.
That's one of the players the FMF is sponsoring in the new US women's league. ...a bad re-incarnation of Diego Maradona? ...an escapee from Sabado Gigante or Republica Deportiva? ...and not only that, but it looks like there's a disembodied head after cheerleader #3.
The club world cup got me pumped for this! With Santos getting a new coach from Portugal and not knowing how serious Tuca will take it.........Monterrey look to be the big favorites once again! 3 in a row? Concacaf will always finish top 3 in Club World Cups from here on out!!

I thought it was late Feb.........thanks ceez With the Galaxy without Beckham and maybe without Donovan, I think Herediano qualifies to the semis! And of course the 3 mexican teams are gonna lay the smack down!
Here are probabilities of winning the tournament based on the bwin odds: Monterrey: 24.8% Santos Laguna: 24.8% Tigres UANL: 19.5% Los Angeles: 8.5% Seattle: 8.5% Houston: 7.6% Herediano: 4.5% Xelaju: 1.7% Mexico: 69.1% USA: 24.6% Costa Rica: 4.5% Guatemala: 1.7%
The games with MLS teams yes, Univision Deportes should carry all the other games (if it is an MLS team vs a non MLS team both stations will carry it).

Te veo en la final... lol
a clasico regio in the final would be pretty sweet!, but can`t count out Santos after all they do have the king of England on their squad! long live the King!
I completely agree with you, Santos is retaking its best form compared to last semester where they looked awful. On the other hand, I think Monterrey will never retake the level they showed two years ago, not with their current players, they are getting old, slower, although they are talented and experienced. Tigres is looking good, most of them been playing together for 2 years or more, now with the return of Danilinho and the incorporation of Villa, Lobos and Damian look amazing. Added to the National team level defensive and middle field players, this team as a "team" and in individuality its in my point of view, one of the top candidates to win it all this year.
I watched the game and it could had gone either way, and Chivas is playing much better than last semester. I still think Monterrey won't have any problem in reaching the Concacrap final.
