Absolutely huge European match in Turkey for Onyewu and Standard today. If there is a winner, they will join Steaua Bucharest at the top of Group B on 6 points with 2 to play.
Should mention that Athletic Bilbao and Steaua also play today, a bit later since they are in Spain. The idle team this round is Parma. Steaua are playing their final match of the group. Current table (single round robin): Steaua 6 pts from 3 matches (+2GD) Besiktas 3 pts from 2 matches (+1 GD) Bilbao 3 pts from 2 matches (0 GD) Standard 3 pts from 2 matches (-1 GD) Parma 3 pts from 3 matches (-2 GD)

Alternatively, why don't you start your own message board, bigsoccerspoiler.com. and then YOU can set the rules? Why do people of your ilk never blame the site owners who set policy? Go to the S&A boards and plead your case there.
Thanks for your kind words. I'll pass them on to the whole ilk. There's a matchtracker in English at UEFA.com with several mentions of Gooch's doings. I must warn you that it does mention the result of The Match Which Cannot Be Mentioned.
Interesting of note that 10 yellow cards (5 apiece) were handed out after minute 61.. That simply has to be some sort of record.. 10 yellows in less than 30 minutes.. By the way, Gooch did receive a yellow..
nice result... Standard can still go through with a win, draw or even a lost.. it all depends what the other team does. Go Parma if u are rooting for Standard.
Or you could suggest that Garbaggio simply use the [result]Considering that everyone should be familiar with this function by now. I surprised that this is even a point of discussion.[/result]
The following spoils Bilbao - Steaua if you do the math so here's a warning. [result] I don't think Standard could possibly go through with a loss. Right now there tied with Besiktas at 4 points, and any result from Parma - Besiktas puts someone at 5 or more. It also looks a tie knocks Standard out as the Turks had a better goal differential if it comes to that. Standard really needs to beat Bilbao to go through.[/result]
Ran to check the fixtures; maybe it'll save someone the trouble: December 16, 2004 Standard Athletic Parma Besiktas Either would be a good fixture for GolTV.
Wow, Standard can finish top of the group, or bottom of the group! They are the first team to point away from home! Man, would it be cool to see the last game in Liege......all they need is a 1-0....fans going to go nuts if/when they get it..... The tie does help, in that goal difference irrelevant now...all they have to do is win...
Oh well, that didn't work. I'm trying to post an image (link above) of Gooch's foul right at the edge of the penalty area in about the 90th minute. The matchtracker said there was some controversy over whether it was inside or outside the area. Also, does that look like FieldTurf to others?
