11/8 Casey: Karlsruhe - VfB Lubeck [R] Conor goes for goals in consecutive weeks vs Lubeck kicker has him starting http://www.kicker.de/content/spielp...ag=12&spielpaarung=635473&turnier=&bvc_atab=4
Hahaha....My comment came just a couple minutes before (way to get off the home schneid Casey!....now, how about hat trick and Kicker Team of Week hahaha)
Babelfish basically says Casey got ahold of a nice cross from Saenko and finished easily... Someone with some real German might want to confirm that
Actually, just one more goal for Connor today would be just dandy....it would make him a respectable 7 or 8th among all forwards in BL2 goalscoring, have him lead his team, and get his team (likely) into top 3 in BL2....oh yeah, likely he'd be Player of Match So just one more today, Connor...that's all you need haha
This result brings 2of our YA's teams into promotion spots to BL1/ (with Sanneh/Nürnberg close, assuming he ever plays again), regardless of what Cottbus does tomorrow 1 Alemannia Aachen 23 2 Energie Cottbus 20 3 Karlsruher SC 20 4 1. FC Nürnberg 19
According to Kicker report, Casey also set up a '100% opportunity' that some guy named 'Maenner' (literally Men) missed from inside 6 yards- drilling it over the top. So Americans aren't only ones missing from short distance. Other notables from report: - Kicker called the 100% creation by Casey a work of art - Kicker called Casey 'agile' (not bad for the big guy) - Apparently Casey had a flop in the 1st half that ref refused to call...musta been a good one to get a Kicker mention.. Remains to be seen, but looks like Connor has a shot at Player of Game..at a minimum, he had a good/very good game (1 goal, and shoulda been another- setup)
Mighty Casey! You just know Brucie is keeping his eye on him. Plus, any time an American does well in Germany, I think it opens up more options for the young uns, since Germany has traditionally fielded a few American players.
1st half CC makes an powerful early run down the right, beating two defenders before taking the silly fall jri mentioned - perhaps lucky not have seen yellow after a great ball to spring saenko down the left and a nice center, CC taps in from 5m - good run finding space CC outruns (?!) 3 defenders to go in naked but never squeezes off a shot halftime not one, but two german commercials featuring naked hotties with full booty shot 2nd half CC again shows good pace to race down the left, plays across for a sitter that is inexpilicably pushed wide (not high as kicker said) mostly lubeck attacking in the last half hour, but CC shows several good touches and passes on counters casey even gives a grinning post match interview in decent german with the KSC mascot leering over his shoulder
This is a very common misconception of Casey.. While he's not Landon fast (and few players are) he certainly is much faster than McBride and Mathis.. To me, he is the complete package as a target forward.. Very good speed, very good skill on the ball and good in the air..
i think he just appears to be slow with his long, loping, powerful strides - even while he was running by these guys, he didn't look fast - it was kinda strange
