Second round, first leg match at the City of Manchester Stadium against a Polish entry in the UEFA Cup competition, and while Claudio Reyna has started the last few league and cup games for Man City, there are no guarantees that he'll be in the starting eleven again, given Kevin Keegan's squad system in place. TV-wise, it's live on Fox Sports World in English and Spanish, kickoff is at 12:05 p.m. PT/3:05 p.m. ET. For those stuck at work, and otherwise, Manchester City's official site (www.mcfc.co.uk) and www.uefa.com each have audio webcasts, but those are likely on paid annual subscription packages. News round-up forthcoming...

If anyone has any others to add, feel free to do so. Also, just in the way of a heads-up, I might not be able to do the news round-ups for Saturday's Premiership games involving the Yanks Abroad. My mother-in-law is still in hospital after her stroke-related illness of last week, and my wife and I are making a day trip to Geelong to spend time with her family, and we don't expect to be back until late in the evening, just a few hours before the games kick off. But I'll endeavour to do my best...
Sorry to hear about that,William.Don't worry about being back-family is more important than a virtual soccer community. Yes,I am old school-thanks for asking.
No worries, Russ. We'll try not to hurry back too fast down the Midland Highway from Geelong. Safety first... Articles from the normal sources above, and others, will suffice, in case I don't get back at a reasonable hour on Saturday. Back on topic, the one common theme I gathered in all these articles of research is about Manchester City... man, are they loaded. My tip is that they could win this tie handily.
That's what lots of peeps said regarding Lokeren. They just have to beware of complacency. I think Claudio will definately play in the away leg, with his European experience coming into play, but I'm not sure about this leg.
Claudio doesn't play. Of course, that's just my pre-game prediction, we'll have to wait and see if I'm right!
Yeah, I didn't see hardly anything about the game on FSW. Only saw a little blurb about it during a Futbol Mundial commercial break. Anyways, why would you want to tape this game when Lawnmower Racing is on?
Claudio starts 1. Seaman, David 22. Dunne, Richard 5. Distin, Sylvain 17. Sun, Jihai 20. McManaman, Steve 18. Tarnat, Michael 6. Reyna, Claudio 24. Barton, Joey 8. Fowler, Robbie 29. Wright-Phillips, Shaun 39. Anelka, Nicolas
Man. City 1 Seaman 5 Distin 8 Fowler 17 Sun 18 Tarnat 20 McManaman 22 Dunne 24 Barton 29 Wright-phillips 6 Reyna 39 Anelka Bench 32 Ellegaard 26 Bosvelt 10 Sibierski 2 Sommeil 19 Tirtto 9 Wanchope
Looks like Keegan wants to run up the score at home and then just putt around in Poland. Claudio might be doing more defending than usual with that lineup. I guess McMananananaman recovered from his knock sufficiently.
Based on a ManCity forum I read, the City supporters are starting to warm to Claudio. Interesting to see the pattern of Claudio's spell with both Rangers and Sunderland being repeated at City.
HOW DID HE MISS THAT??!!! (apologize for the caps) Reyna misses wide open net from about five yards after a beautiful buildup. Now Anelka scores, though. 1-0 City.
Re: Re: 11/6 Reyna: Man City v Groclin, UEFA Cup {R} And you're subscribed to the Yanks on TV thread too.... Reason #XXXX for Tivo....
Beautiful little give and go, Reyna got the ball back inside the six-yard box, juked the keeper, then a defender and shot high from directly in front of the goal. In the timeworn words of English announcers, that one was harder to miss than to make. Anelka in alone, saved by the keeper. This one's shaping up to be a blowout.
Re: Re: Re: 11/6 Reyna: Man City v Groclin, UEFA Cup {R} Indeed. Must have just not seen the notice ... gotta stop looking at BigSoccer and actually start teaching. I am sure FSW will replay it sometime later this week.
Forget that blowout stuff. Seaman's had to pull off two great saves in the last five minutes. Sorry. Reyna's shot was inside the keeper's box--five yards.
There goes Claudio. Looks like a left hamstring problem. He's off for Bosvelt. Came off on his own power, looking pretty pissed.
