so far johnson & parker have been doing a great job of trying to break up the play,as have lampard & makelele.lets hope they can keep it up and hopefully we'll score again in the second half.

Arjen Robben - not a bad acquisition, eh? :D
And unlike a certain trick pony up north, he actually scores for his club. ;)

second half was a right scrap with our boys mostly defending, for about 35 min's or so.then they upped a gear and started to hold the ball up very well and almost created a few chances late on.still we are the first team through to the knock out stages, meaning we can if we want play weakened teams for the remaining games,to focus on the league if we wish.

so job done and dusted,it was'nt pretty but it had to be done.

One of the finest goals I have seen this season. The touch on from Eidur, the 1-2 qith Duff and Robben, but also the finish. Roben could have blasted it into the defender, but he just lets the ball run on a bit and passes it into the corner of the goal against the movement of the keeper.

    Roll on Saturday.

Ya know, these confounded computers at work with their darn firewalls blocking out anything thats not company related is getting on my nerves.
(not too mention that they run a history at the end of the week of sites visited)

    Anyways...

Great too see that we won, i'm happy and surprised.

Are we the 'form' team of the moment - i think so :D

    Robben and Duff eh?
Thats just great news, as was seeing the home grown lads get a run out in the game, actually, more than getting a run out, they started.
perhaps Mourinho is realising that Ranieri had method to his madness last season with all the squad changes.
I doubt we'll see another 3 games of unchanged line ups like he pulled a few weeks ago again.
Thankfully we won't see any of the other more ...er...'unusual' changes either that were the norm last season.

Unbeaten so far in the Champs league, 2 away wins to boot (are you watching, are you watching, are you watching Ars-en-al :D)

Hoping they show the highlights on FSW tonight.

Saw the goals last night from the weekend - all top class.

We're looking good and this time there's no break to muck things up.

Think Everton are of the opinion that they might be on the end of a hiding this weekend.;):p

Oh yes indeed, that was a sweet goal by Robben.
They just showed it on FSW at the half between Barca and Milan.

pheww, almost like he was sidefoot passing the ball they way he rolled that into the far corner.
Completely pulled it back against the grain as all of the defenders and the keeper were going the other way.
    Sweet build up indeed.

Anybody else watching the Barca game?

Chelsea had great defensive organisation in this game .CSKA had all the ball in the 2nd half but never really created a single chance apart from the penalty that got missed. I think Mourinho wanted to use this game to try out a defensive formation for the latter stages .

Great goal... and a very good game in terms of attack in the first half and defence in the second.

What the hell was young Johnson trying to do with that tackle in the PA??? He'd had one mad moment before that where he passed it straight to Wagner Love and Makalele decided that crocking him was the better of 2 evils. Strange really, because he'd played well otherwise. Maybe it's a question of trying to hard to impress. I suppose all it really shows is that he's not the finished article which I think we knew already.

I was a bit disappointed in our midfield not being able to hold the ball as well as theirs in the second half but, away from home against a difficult side, very satisfying.
