I wonder how much of a factor if any is the fact that BET Founder Robert Johnson owning the Bobcats in that city in BET deciding Charlotte as the best city.

I was just reading article about how Robert Johnson isn't the most popular guy in Charlotte and doesn't spend a lot of time there.

This just in. A guy on our cabin road by a lake. Left one of his four wheels outside in front for the winter. It was chained to the tree. It was stolen. You just can't make this stuff up. Sure it was 4 yrs. old but a couple grand no doubt. You just can't make this stuff up. I bet big words had something to so with it.

I've been to Charlotte (thanks, Tom O'Brien).

Trust me, it's not the #1 city for anyone to live.

No there's racism everywhere, those with brains recognize that fact, and dont get defensive about it.

Im with the previous poster...having lived in Charlotte for a time back in the day, I find it hard to believe it would be #1 in anything.

    <Beach Boys> Wouldn't it be nice? </Beach Boys>

Seriously, there's a reason polls like this exist, and let's be very clear about the fact that it isn't because of Black people.

I declared racism over almost a month ago. Apparently, not everyone got the message.

This was a BET poll. Don't black people run that?

Missed that memo, sorry. I'll start checking my email more often at work.

Yes, but I don't watch BET very often.

Seriously, the poll exists because someone (more like some many) has figured out that there are places that are more hostile and those that are less so. Apparently Charlotte is among the cream of the latter. Never been there, but I was born in Greensboro. Not that bad a place, my folks recall.

    Somewhat
But that doesnt matter its a real issue with black people for the fact that they are in fear in mistakingly moving into a racist city or area
Matt looks a lil preturbed at the whole aspect of a question or poll being conducted in the first place
Bet if they did conduct this poll first where looking strickly for feedback
It is not a seperating tool cause those cities considered as one of the best for black families probably consist of alot of caucasians anyways
I dont think its all about "where they arent" but where "black people are"

Waukegan Illinois is the best place for Serbo-Croatian ex-Supreme Court Justice Tennis Pro Rabbis.

You should experience the hilarity when one of them walks into a bar.

This was a statistical analysis, they didn't walk up to people here and say "Hey, is this a nice place for blacks?"

South and North Carolina (Charlotte is on the border) 1st and 2nd in terms of blacks per capita. They don't choose to leave.

Yet all we ever hear is how racist Southern people are, and how they're always up for lynching black people.

Yet the stats come out and people choose to ignore them.

FYI, Charlotte has had 1 hate crime in 15 years. The lowest among top-20 cities. And that crime was some suburban kid (who happened to be born in Binghamton, NY) trying to act hard because of something that happened to him in gym class. That crime? He spray painted KKK on a garage door.

Fact, there are no jungle noises at North Carolina sporting events, including NASCAR.

Fact, there have been jungle noise at Boston sporting events.

When the Eagles played a game here they wanted to make fun of us but where overwhelmed by hospitable we were.

Johnson isn't popular here because his team plays in an arena we didn't want to build.

And we're also #1 among religious people in major (over 500,000) western cities (we have 753 Churches) . "Religion is the source of violence"?

Northerners looking for narrow mindedness? Look in the mirror.

Charlotte "back in the day" is different than Charlotte today. We've adopted a policy of ruthlessly undercutting other cities in order to steal their jobs. (See: Goodrich (stolen from Ohio), Bank of America (we had the smaller NationsBank (formerly North Carolina National Bank) while San Fransisco had the larger Bank America yet we got the merged bank), among others like Meineke (stolen from Houston).
