It really didn't. It really just shifts the onus on the season ticket holder to have to deal with the front office when it really could be easier.

I've really got no beef at all. FCD is just sending the message that it is kind of dumb, at least at this age of the franchise, to buy season tickets. Either that, or it knows that those of us who have bought them since the first season will just buy them out of habit.

I think it just makes more sense to drive people towards season ticket ownership. Not my call.

nobody is telling me I can't buy into the promotion... but I think you can understand that I already have 4 tickets to the game as a season ticket holder. So to get any of these promotions, I would have to buy 4 more tickets. Why would I want to buy 4 more tickets?

This is true based on the model that is being used for promotions.

I'm not saying give free access to the promotions, I'm saying give promotions that everyone can benefit from. The one dollar beer is something that could have just been opened up to the public. One dollar beer for everyone until kickoff. That may bring some fans out.

I already have tickets for every home game, so any promotion that requires the purchase of tickets from here on out, is something that I can't benefit from without added expense, and then the trade off isn't worth it.

still confused? I should see you Thursday night....

again, I'm not trying to deter anyone from attending... I don't know if you make more commision from season tickets or individual sales... I'm just saying looking at the way promotions are done, for me and my family it may be better to just roll the dice each game and see what comes up.

I just got this email from the noreply@fcdallas.net email address, it was titled FC Dallas Happy Hour.. It mentions nothing of having to buy special seats for the game... have they expanded the promotion to everyone with tickets???

FC Dallas Happy Hour - $1 Beer

    What: Pre-game Happy Hour - $1 Beers

Where: Pizza Hut Park Coors Light Beer Garden (Northwest Corner of Stadium)

    When: Thursday, September 20th 5:30-7pm

Please make arrangements to arrive early to avoid the traffic. FC Dallas will take on the Chicago Fire at 7:00 pm and make sure to be cheering loud for your Hoops as the game will be televised on ESPN2.

    GO HOOPS!

I'm a season ticket holder and not in hoops nation... though it doesn't seemed addressed to anyone in particular so hopefully they sent the same email to Hoops Nation... perhaps they should of billed it as a pre-oktoberfest... that opens in Munich on Sept 22nd :)

I'm looking forward to hundreds of angry people waiting in line at the one beer cart to get their $1 deal.

I mean, there's no way they actually get this right and have enough people ready to service the crowd, right?

BTW, a six pack of Natty Lite < $1 a piece. Just sayin'.

if this is true, that it's open to everyone, then this is great.

I didn't get the email though.

    A few points...

-great idea for $1 beer nights, but really sucks for season tix holders
-your team is doing great, mine sucks. life cant be that bad for you!
-good luck on the upcoming LAG v FCD game soon. may the best team win (i guess thats you)

so... moral of the story... screw the $1 beers, youre team is gonna be in the playoffs! Cheer up mates!

PS... beer at home depot center is $12.50. If your regular price beers are less, you win again.

Our beers at the HDC start at $8 and go up to $12.50 (24 ounce corona's and heinekens.)

So it's worse here but maybe not as bad as previous poster suggested...

As sports fans we should all boycott stadium concessions until they make the prices more reasonable.

The more the merrier in my opinion :) I had emailed my rep and he said they had decided to open it up to the STHs, we just needed to show our ticket... either way, I hope they have all of their ducks in a row and don't make this into a fiasco tomorrow :)

Well, if you show up tomorrow, I'm pretty sure you're going to view it as a fiasco.

Who the hell drinks wine at a soccer game? That's gotta be simple supply and demand, right there.

I thought it was mixing red wine and lager that gave many soccer fans, especially English ones, their trademark rosy colour.

I'll bet the money I don't save on beer that they run out of beer before they run out of pizzas.
