This game is on my birthday.
That is the only significance of why I'm posting this so soon.
The Fire also lost in New York on Daisy's birthday, so I guess I'll get the same present.

Happy Birthday, a few days early.

Oh, crap, the 2000 Bulls were awful. I had forgotten how bad they were.
Tim Floyd? One of worst coaches ever. He was potato before potato was mashed.

Team broken up, replaced with rookies and third tier professionals.
Tim Floyd-no professional head coaching experience. Had only coached kids (college). Coached the Bulls to misery, with the two worst records in their history.
They were the youngest team in NBA history.
They lost 25 straight home games.

They were the 2016 Chicago Fire.

Come to the Aurora Borealis game on Wednesday instead, they're playing the Fire PDL team in the final preseason match. I guarantee you'll have a happier birthday. ;)

Since I assume they're walking to New York from Boston to save money. 3-0 loss.

They're getting to New York and then walking from there to the stadium. Here's what it looks like:

Which bursts into flames on the way, as Megabuses do, forcing the Fire to hitchhike the rest of the way to the game. And with all of the team's equipment burned up in smoke, and no budget for replacements, they'll be forced to use loaner balls and kits from the local AYSO team for practice. I might actually pay money to see Lampson bounce out in a youth-large goalie kit.

(I gotta say that making up stories about the hypothetical exploits of this sad-sack team is infinitely more entertaining than actually watching the games).

The worst thing is we're not even getting interesting players like voodoo priests or soccer players from penal leagues like in Major League.

I smell a clean sheet. Will the Red Bulls' keeper make a save?

As the Fire plumb new depths, the League finally has to intervene, right? To clarify, w/the club, not w/the team.

It is time to tell Pauno who to play in his system. Whether you call it a 5-3-2 or 3-4-1-2, I don't care. I want to see the Fire's best veteran players play with the best younger players. I don't need to see the over the hill gang anymore. This is the lineup I want to see. I will use the 3-4-1-2.

    -----Accam-----------Igbo-------
    ---------------Cocis---------------
    Vincent--Thiam--Polster--Ramos
    ---Campbell--Meira--Kappelhoff
    -------------The Milkman---------

I would like to see Fernandez where I have Cocis, but with his injury, I'm not hopeful. It does need to happen prior to de Leeuw coming in July. I do not need to see Alvarez, LaBrocca, Stephens, Gilberto, or Harrington anymore.

Ramos is more than capable and should be starting every match. It is time for Vincent to sink or swim. He may be sinking right now, but the Fire are still leaking goals and I would rather have the younger player get more game time to see if he develops.

Please, Please, Please Free Sean Johnson!!!!!

I guess I like getting rid of the guys you got rid of, but I don't much like playing an 8-2 and calling it a 3-4-1-2. Your lineup looks like the logical extension of Pawnos slow regression from week 1 playing 5 attackers, to removing 1 attacker every couple weeks.

Perhaps by July we can play this:

    -----------------DeLeeuw
    Vincent-Thiam-Cocis-Polster-Ramos
    Meira-Campbell-Gehrig-Kappelhof
    -----------------McLain

and achieve Pawno's dream of a 90 minute match with zero shots on goal from either team.

I see a lot of people penciling in Vincent as a left mid. Yeah, yeah, I know. He is really a left back in a five man back line, but still, even in that situation, Jones would have been much better suited for that position. The biggest knock on him around these parts involve defending or a mistake or two in defending during a game. If you play him at left mid, he is soooooo much faster and more athletic than Vincent, that it should not have even been a discussion between Pawno and Nrod. Dead horse. I know, but those early moves are so head scratching that I still can't wrap my head around them.
