Not surprising in the slightest. NZL is #22 in the rankings, MEX is #36. And it's not like that's only because of MEX's recent struggles - MEX is usually 24-28, while NZL is usually 19-23. NZL has almost always been better than MEX, and that's not even including home field advantage.
That game wasn't even broadcast, probably because it is difficult to market a team which failed miserably to the Mexicanamerican's, as a direct comparison to the cashgrab moletours the men's team has.
The Philippines-New Zealand is going to be broadcast via livestreaming for free on youtube on Tuesday. I wonder how many Fil Ams will show up to support the game since it is not really being marketed very much. NZ doesn't have much of an immigrant base in the US so the game is dependent upon Filipino fans to help sell the game.

Ten months before the World Cup on home soil, Australia's form is still very far from the required to get out of the group.
I'd maybe worry about NZL, but probably not AUS. Getting out of the group means beating whatever pot 3 team they get, which right now looks like a playoff-side UEFA team or the likes of COL/ARG/CRC/JAM. Losing to a pot 1 team in a friendly doesn't spell doom for the groups. Sure, on one hand, they've lost to KOR and drawn POR recently; on the other hand, they've beaten BRA and drawn USA. Bit of a mixed bag, but still looking better than pot-3-level, IMO.
Well... NZL has even bigger mountain to climb... still I think they do face quite less pressure and expectations from home fans.
Battle of the Principalites, we only have three in Europe and Monaco do not have neither a WNT or a MNT and since they do not have even a FA of their own are not likely to get any
Jade Rose was incredible in this game!! Even before that run through the midfield, her pace for a CB was on display. There was a moment in the first half where Kerr got the jump on her and was going to be in alone. Rose not only caught up to her but dispossessed her as well. I didn’t realize her gazelle like speed until today, as Canada was awful in the U-20 WC, and I don’t watch Harvard. Even with Leon’s heroics, Rose was player of the match for me
Sep 6 FT New Zealand 2-1 Philippines Pretty even game with both squads being nearly equal in possession and shots on goal at the end. The Ferns were missing a lot of players due to injury and positive COVID tests but so were the Philippines that had similar issues including long term injuries to players and Covid induced suspensions. One of the Filipina starters also sustained an ACL-MCL tear last January similar to the Ferns Annalie Longo's injury in the Mexico friendly a few days ago but she is on her way to recovery now and has started rehabbing and training again so I hope Annalie can recover fast enough as well to play in the WC next year. The Philippines led in the first half 1-0 but a controversial PK given to NZ early in the 2nd half allowed them to get back into the game and eventually win it. The Philippines nearly equalized late in extra time but the ball hit the goalpost instead.

For Germany, a long flight till Florida Miami, jetlag, a match, then fly to New Jersey the day after, then match. Is it not a little bit dangerous, risk of injuries just 8 months before WC ?
It is a tall order but the Philippines needs to win both away games to raise their rankings so they can get to Pot 3 in the WWC draw. https://pff.org.ph/2022/09/20/filipinas-set-for-friendly-matches-vs-costa-rica/
