They'd have given us a dollar and some envelopes for his discovery rights had they come to an agreement. Teams negotiate deals all the time than worry about getting the allocation spot or rights to the player in MLS, but for someone reason, DCU rarely gets paid well and always pays through the teeth for whomever.
Bobby Wood is often injured and hasn’t been in form in about 5 years. He’s also getting paid stupid money to train with the Hamburg U-23s. If They can get him relatively cheap id be for it but I guess if a deal were to be had he’d be playing for FCC.

Given what we know about Cincinnati's front office, they probably forgot to actually submit the Discovery.
Woods could be a big redemption story if he comes here, but I fear unreasonable salary demands will sink the idea. Too bad, I would like to see us play with more than one up top and we need at least three forwards to make that possible (because one will always be injured0.
Based on work done so far this year, aren't we all? Seriously, we can't build a winning team on rehab projects. One way or another the team needs to find some actual quality. Too bad Ben's ability to coach the promise out of a young player on the rise doesn't also work in reverse bringing out quality in a player in decline. Oh wait. Damn. There I go again, using coach as a verb during the Olsen/Ashton regime. I'm sorry.
Welp, it's happening. Breaking: Multiple sources at MLS teams have been told the league is is suspending games immediately in order to fully assess the situation.— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) March 12, 2020
And no more kvetching about poor play, poor coaching, poor roster management, and poor stadium amenities for at least 30 days. How is one expected to cope?
More time with Olsen and Ashton will undoubtedly make them better. Wait. Now I sound like last night's presidential TV address. No, realistically I assume that they'll hunker down, practice some social distancing, play FIFA and eat pupas. Atlanta will use the time to pick up another world class striker and we'll find a way to begin negotiations with some guy who played in the 1950 World Cup and wants to make a comeback. We'll come back to play at some point. At that point the good teams will be ready, and they will win. And you all know the drill: we'll have another press conference where our coach talks about how we need more grit and need some time to get back in the swing. Stay safe everyone
There must be quite a lag in distribution, Mine arrived early this week and there were people who had it for the opener.
I am in a deep funk. As a retiree, I spend an inordinate amount of time perusing this site and contributing an occasional opinion or observation. Now, with basically nothing going on for a month (at least) I have to find another way to fill my day. Reading is a possibility, but when I am at the computer my wife thinks I am doing something useful, although, unbeknownst to her, I am on Big Soccer which, by definition, is more of a recreation, and sitting there reading all day would appear to her to be a less than serious use of my time. Perhaps I should read the Great Books, or make an attempt to recover the foreign language skills I once had. Maybe that would satisfy her. Or I could have long lunches with friends, or visit taverns and drink. Or find some civic activities that might actually help people. Oh, what to do...?
On a serious note, I'm working my way trying to learn passable Spanish. I have a working knowledge of Italian, although "parlo italiano come un ragazzo chi ha cinque anni" (I speak Italian like a 5 year old boy). Helps keep the mind active and you get a better understanding of the world by sorting things out through the evolution of language. Or, you could just drink heavily until the season resumes.
A thought: Let us all use this unexpected hiatus to do or achieve something useful, if not to others at least to ourselves.
Don’t know it intended, but this gave me a laugh. Especially the part about your wife thinking you are doing something useful. thank you
