Man City can’t get a better manager than Pep currently. Let’s face it, he’ll never get sacked. I hope he leaves instead of renewing a new contract though.

 

What’s weird is that the way Man City was set up in this match (by Pep) made it easy for Lyon to take KdB out of the game. Played ultra defensive v the 7th place team in Ligue 1. Then no subs until it was too late. Almost like he was auditioning for a job with Barca.

 

It would’ve made sense if the team was drilled to play the formation. Should’ve played like they did against Madrid and would’ve won. Pep messed up, but Sterling should’ve scored that lmfao. Ederson is overrated af

 

I would flip that sentence around because the most important part of a statement shouldn’t come before the word “but”.

Even if Sterling scored its still just 2-2. Anyone’s game and wouldn’t have changed the dynamics of the contest that much (Lyon happy to counter and City needed another goal, albeit with more time to find one).

 

They have so much money and can’t sign a proper striker. What Pep needs is a Lewandowski type of player tbh and solid centre backs. This match exposed how overrated the team is without KDB

Man Utd like always is overrated.

 

Seville deserved it but if Man Utd get a good striker they will be a big threat again. And I don’t just mean in the Europa League.

 

They have lots of holes in the squad and club imo, CF is least of their concerns. And the holes are places where they have invested significant resources already. They are poor at CB, GK, mediocre at winger, weak at DM. Coach is average. Player recruitment is average to poor.

The only place where they look set is the two central midfielders.

 

Sevilla to save Spain from forgettable season.

 

Man Utd is in a much worse situation than us and people don’t talk about them. With the new board, Barca can rebuild properly and have better spending power than Utd. Just sell the deadweights and rebuild the team with fresh blood by bringing in a world class manager. That 8-2 loss isn’t gonna affect Barca’s attraction of great players due to the club’s appeal and legacy. This is Gaspart situation all over again tbh and we’ve come back from this. Pep can get better players at Barca under a great board than he did with Bayern or City. It’s not about the money, it’s about the appeal of the club. No other club have the same level of appeal like Real or Barca does currently or historically speaking. Best players always played for these two

 

I think a lot of their holes are currently filled with young players that just need time. Greenwood has potential. Rashford is still only 22. So they seem fine on the wing IMO.

Main difference between us and Man Utd is money. They have more money in the bank and also more on the field. For e.g. if they really need some extra $$ to fill an urgent need they could sell Pogba or Martial tomorrow for, I dunno... Euro 80-90m? We can't do that. All we can do in transfer windows is beg other clubs to take dinosaurs off our hands for Euro 5 million or sometimes $0. lol

Sure Barca can rebuild with a new Board but we are talking about a 3-year project.

No one in their right mind would/should choose Barca. It's a club in disarray and accelerating decline. FDJ probably regrets listening to Bartomeu, Arthur probably relieved to have left this disaster of a project, Pjanic regrets going the opposite direction. Griezman, Dembélé and Coutinho would like to turn back time. Honestly, if you're at least a little bright you would stay away from Barca. I would, no matter what until entire board is replaced and new project starts.
