After traveling to multiple campuses, getting accepted and rejected to multiple programs, and talking to my would be future colleges I quickly found out law school wasn't for me (or my family).
I'm up at the U (and SLCC), though, doing their engineering program. Actually having a job and not 100K in debt when I graduate is something I wanted.
I need to add that I wasn't accepted to the U. Which, in hindsight, was actually a really good thing. I didn't enjoy the way they did their application and selection process. It was as though I was a hindrance to them for applying.
Interesting. I had the same thing happen to me. In the end decided law wasn't the right path. Now I'm stuck deciding if I want to enjoy freedom for a while, or jump right into a masters program.
Are you doing the engineering as a 2nd BS/BA, or did you transfer from Westminister? Mechanical, electrical, structural, or other engineering? I graduated in construction management, so I work with engineers daily. Sometimes I wish I would've gone that route...
Mechanical as 2nd BS. I graduated from Westminster with a BA in Econ/Pre-Law and therefore had all the non-engineering stuff done.
sophomore year at Westminster I started into the ENGR program but stopped once I got married/pregnant as the program was a 3 years at Westminster, 2 years at USC or a school in St Louis. I should have done it then, but the thought of moving at that time was out of the question
Very cool. That will open a lot of doors for you. Design sector, construction sector, or with an econ background you could work as an owner's rep/consultant. Good luck!
