That 0-0 draw vs. Saudi Arabia in September isn't looking so bad in hindsight

im all for for argentina crashing out in the group stage- at least itll stop the silly winning it all talk.

i wonder if this fourth intl retirement for messi is really going to be due to age or him just being a whiny primadonna again?

That has to be the biggest World Cup upset since 1950, right?

Also, I’ve educated my wife. She saw the score, asked me who “KSA” was, then immediately responded “it’s rigged” when I said Saudi Arabia.

I was thinking Cameroon 1-0 Argentina in 1990 or Senegal 1-0 France in 2002.

Saudi Arabia won their qualifying group over Japan and as @glennaldo_sf points out, it was essentially a home game - it doesn’t seem that nuts to me.

    Awesome second goal.

Senegal 1-0 France is bigger because France were World Cup champs and Senegal had never been anywhere near the World Cup in 2002

Not even close to Belo Horizonte for me. Or North Korea over Italy.

I don’t think belo Horizonte counts because we are talking upset, the winner of that match was not an upset

Chalk up another crappy thing about this joke of a World Cup. The walkout anthem sucks beyond belief. At least Russia had “Seven Nation Army” as one redeeming quality.
