I heard only 300 people or so placed deposits for FCGP. I love to see them last, but with NASCAR and Arena Football taking some serious cuts I don't know if WPS can make it unless they get subsidized and absorbed as WMLS. I'm only thinking about Opening Day and that's it.

Then again, I heard the WNBA is suffering too... so we're not alone. Lucky for now I have to worry about myself and not another person for tix. The one thing I don't do anymore is head to the clubs--those are expensive and not worth the $ anyway.

Of course, Quakes fans are a big family so usually something comes up--hang in there.

and a ton happening over the holidays... it's more for the kids nowadays... as long as they're happy--plus Christmas comes along when the 2009 season starts... :D

plus, who's going to lead the Serengeti? I'm only keen on opening day for FCGP and after that--all my $ went to the Quakes plus the qb hates women's soccer--she'd rather parade around as Heather Mitts! :D

Well, after all the off-field distractions that I've been dealing with the past few months--it should be a nice birthday/Christmas present. I'm ok taking the behind the goal seats. I wanted to switch but rather keep it in my regular spot.

If anyone doesn't like it then :rolleyes: on them.

It's the economy and like everyone I'm in a deep hole too. Renewing for the upcoming season does make up for not going to Japan back in 1990. Plus I don't take vacations except stay at home or check out daytime events/festivals. I've put off buying jerseys since I can always get them later or find them at bargain prices. However this one will pay off, even if I take a hit from the taxman in 2009! I might just focus on being a fan more. ;)

Actually I had to break the bank to renew for 2009--I'm leaning towards being at the stands more and on the field just for select games. I'm on the fence for FC Gold.

I used to follow the original CyberRays group with some of the lot but this time around and with the increase of events--I just want to focus on the Quakes, and just go for a few select games. The buzz has worn off since Mia Hamm and most of her cohorts from 1999 retired.

Any chance Mia Garciaparra can unretire? :D I'm in!

Yo! Going to be supporting FC Gold? I'm only going if they get a Supporter's Group going. However, depending on whether or not I return for 2009 I can only support the women if they can get a semblance of a group similar to the Ultras and/or Casbah. I know it will be an uphill challenge with the soccer moms who want to see the squeaky clean variety.

Hey we don't need the "7 words you can't say on television" but we can still be raucous and come up with some clever lines, like "no diving"... ;)

I know Guy wants to just stay retired but really there has to be someone who wants to take on the mantle. Ok cheers!

Liz and I have tickets in the Columbus supporters section for MLS Cup Final. It's going to be awesome.

The one on the left (Amy Gutierrez). I was just watching the game and she happened to stumble on by in a sulking mood. However, since she was still on the clock to speak, that's understandable since the reporters are under constant pressure to put together the best show possible. However, even in worst of days they are still under a microscope and are still expected to be at the least gracious. At least, can't find Kate in a bad mood at the Quakes games.

The one on the right is Jaymee Sire, who covers the A's and Warriors hoops team. Actually, she was filling in at the Chivas LA game since Kate had to cover the Sharks game. She was a bit flustered being at a soccer match but at least she seemed to be taking it in. I did tell Jaymee she has a standing offer to hang with us, the fans. ;) She's off the hook because she's married. :D

Interesting enough--she covered the Sharks and wasn't too popular either. However, Kate seems to be getting the angles covered with the hockey team too!

I don't want to tell Kate though especially since she works with that aforementioned person.

I did tell Kate to bring them both to Buck Shaw. I think Amy G would run from us fast. Jaymee might come back! =]

Actually there's a few pics already for the museum--I still have to put together whatever I have of the California Victory in there... the idea is that one copy exists on my flickr, the other I have as my original, and the third to the museum... There's some "legalese" I need to figure out, much like how all the professors donate their notes, records, and collections to a museum or school when they move on...

I know I have a ton of Quakes pics and so forth from way back but that was before I had the DSLR... mostly point and shoot snapshots but still... more from an anthropological/archaeological view...

The only other trick--being sure my flickr runs forever... :D

OK E--now we can shift gears... :D Do you have any more original Quakes art? Obviously that would involve you getting credit so I have to get an ok from you. Right now, compiling some related to the team.

Well E--I think Kate will have to meet the Ultras/Casbah and so forth, just to get the feel for the fans... only rule is be nice to her--no asking if she has any tattoos on any secret spots or anything of that like... maybe get WildKate to wear Ultras face paint, or hang out at the Big Ass Quakes Flag with the Casbah... :p

She's literally our "talking head" in getting the word out... ;)

However, it looks like we have a challenger to her mantle... :p
