It’s the culture Fisher built. Same with the A’s. I don’t think anyone believes he’s even trying. Hard to keep fans attention when you’re not even trying.
Rumor has it that Suarez ate one of the officials after the game: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/uruguay-players-angerly-refs-tunnel-144750560.html
I'm sure the fans, administrators , coaches and players alike all care. The problem is Fisher either not caring or knowing enough to believe what atmosphere he has created in the last 10-15 years..
how many coaches and GMs have tried to play Fishball and failed? all of them. It’s impossible to succeed with Fisher. He won’t invest what it takes to give the Quakes a chance. It’s that simple. No sign that’s about to change - seems like they’re in winter hibernation mode.

Second Round… Holland - USA Portugal - Switzerland Morocco - Spain France - Poland England - Senegal Brazil South Korea Japan - Croatia Argentina - Australia
Boston Red Sox reporter now claiming to be an expert on soccer. Cute. Hard to hope that Shaq and Haji make the starting lineup. On the other hand, the Dutch players have flu and skipped practice so maybe there is a glimmer of a reason to be optimistic.

So it wasn't goal line tech that they used, just a good camera angle. That ball was in! Japan’s second goal in their 2-1 win over Spain was checked by VAR to determine if the ball had gone out of play. The video match officials used the goal line camera images to check if the ball was still partially on the line or not. pic.twitter.com/RhN8meei6Q— FIFA (@FIFAcom) December 2, 2022

The full goal-line tech is only for line calls inside the goal, but that camera is part of the input and it provided the correct angle for visual review.
The sad thing about it is the so-called Euro snob posters all live in the US and Canada. Their disdain for MLS and/or American soccer as a rule though is very strange. We all (especially us Quakes fans) know MLS is not the EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga or the Serie A and of course it’s far from it. We also know the league has its crazy mixed-up rules and other problems. Still, who cares what level MLS is and why is this such an important issue when talking about how crappy the USMNT plays? With no MLS players starting against Iran, how are the two even related? It is in my opinion their feelings are along the lines of racism. Even though they have changed somewhat over the years, we get why the sportscasters of baseball, basketball and football share a hatred for soccer. No one scores, they can’t handle 0-0 bla bla bla etc. but those are all old, tired excuses. Mostly they are afraid that soccer will take away from their major sports. That has been going on since Pele set foot in New York. I understand their animosity but I never understood why North American based fan of the game would not want to see a local club or league or for that matter, national teeam succeed. I never hear or read any hatred towards the J, K or A-Leagues but when it comes to MLS or the USMNT, it's almost like they relish seeing them fail. It literally makes no sense and I am surprised on how or why there is such animosity towards the league and American soccer in general. It's no wonder why the game never makes it big here.
