So far, Pulisic (as far as Americans are concerned) at only 20 years of age is getting better on the club level but he has not done anything yet done much on the international stage. Same goes for the rest of the players on the USMNT. Sadly, no one can currently match a 2002 LAndy or even a Clint Mathis.
The Zemen three are a flop. Verratti gives some utility but none of them lived up to their hype. If Belloti gets back to form, he will do well under Mancini. Have to give our coach credit. He has been willing to sacrifice results to give young players a shot. It is not as if Ventura left the cupboard full but it is refreshing to finally see a new generation representing gli Azzurri.
Just watched the replay. The buildup and goal was a thing of beauty! Le pagelle di Italia-Stati Uniti 1-0: Sensi gioca da veterano ... - Eurosport
Just watched the game on repeat. Wow, I never thought I would be clamoring for Immobile again after the Portugal game, but Lasagna sucks so hard its ridiculous. I know I'm a Milan fan, but Cutrone would of buried two of those chances that Lasagna completely squandered. The defense and Sirigu had nothing to do. Chiesa played well for the first 45, while I was mostly unimpressed with Berardi other than his nice shot on goal. The midfield completely dominated again, with Sensi as the standout. Personally, I think De Sciglio should get the RB spot over Florenzi. Emerson did okay as well. I'm not a huge fan of Politano, but he was effective against tired US legs. I don't know what Falc is smoking, but Verratti played well today. He completely dictated (with Sensi) the pace of the game, and demolished the US midfield. Barella seemed a step slow (possibly tired after Saturday), but he contributed enough to keep our midfield dominant. Kean provided a spark as well.
As good as that time you compared Pavoletti to Higuain based on his Serie B goal scoring stats? Falvo, where are the pagelle? You're slacking!!! velocità di Paolo Tomaselli, inviato a Genk Queste le pagelle dell’Italia. Barella: 5,5 Meno intenso: l’abitudine a giocare ogni tre giorni andrà consolidata.
I'll never understand the Verratti hate, I can't think of a single NT roster he wouldn't be part of and would probably start in 95% of them
He never shows up in important matches and what little he does show against minnows is blown out of proportion. Sensi was the player who impressed yesterday. That pinpoint lifted pass he played is better than anything verratti is capable of.
That old fart Tavecchio pretty much put into play the biggest change the Germans made. Aside from that they started bringing younger hungrier players up to the national team sooner. Mancini is doing that now. Milan, Fiorentina, Inter and now even Roma seem to be picking up the slack. You guys better be careful or you might be dubbed the new Inter (ewwwww).
It's only two people who can't admit when they're wrong. One's a moron. The other you can consider like your Nonno, wise in some ways, stuck in other ways. He's a good guy you would want to play scala quaranta with, just don't take your eyes off the cards when he's shuffling or a few might go up his sleeve. My Nonno hated Fords till the day he died because he once knew someone who bought a new one that burned oil after a few months. Go figure.
No hate for Verratti. He is a good player. Nothing more. Too much is being made of him as if he is some world class player. He is not. He is the best of the Zeman three but that is not saying a whole lot. He has a place on the NT but if he is not there, it will not be a big miss.
if his name was PUGLIAsic i don't think he would sniff our national team. He's decent but he's nowhere near world class
Its probably because other than a few national team and CL games, not many fans have really ever seen him play or followed him on a weekly basis. I doubt there are many followers of Ligue 1- PSG. Or for that matter, remembers when he played in Serie B. To date, he has still yet played in a Serie A match.
PSG plays in champions league Falvo. His biggest weakness is that he loses his temper and gets dumb cards way too often for PSG, not that he only runs away from play and makes backwards passes, or doesn't get forward enough. If he were Juventino, Falc would love him. On the other hand Tottifan is the kind of dummy that when he gets something wrong, rather than drop it, he doubles down, sock puppet and all, and borders on the ridiculous to try and force his ass backwards POV down people's throat. Falc, here's your way out It's a Verratti reset button. I know, old joke Just hit it you stubborn vecchione. Everyone here loves ya Signore.
I've never watched a PSG game in its entirety. Not in Ligue 1 or a Champions League. Other than a Cups Winners Cup in the mid 90's and maybe an Intertoto, they've never won anything. Its pretty difficult to follow them nor do I want to. Many Italian or Serie A fans probably feel the same way. I also doubt they play at a level that the Serie A teams play at.
From what I read in most of the club sub forums, that would be a negative. lol The only Serie A team that has a slightly better CL record in the last few years than PSG, is Juve Falvo.
They still haven't won or ever even made a CL final. No one I know in Italy follows Ligue 1 or PSG. At least Juve won 2 CL's and lost 7, Milan has 7 and lost 4, Inter won 3 and lost 2, Then you have Fiorentina, Sampdora and Roma who all lost 1. Heck Maldini alone won 5 CL's in 1988-1989, 1989-1990, 1993-1994, 2002-2003 and 2006-2007. The only French team to have won was Marseille when they beat Milan crookedly only by a match fixing scandal involving then president Bernard Tapie,. Serie A>>>Ligue 1!
Oh Falvo.....I don't even know where to begin. You sure seem to have the pulse of every Italian on Earth though lol . That and the pulse of this person , and that so and so person , and .... pretty much everyone. ....As long as you're not hearing voices ( that aren't really there )...it's ok...I guess This is usually the part where I hear something said before or hear of someone else you know...or?.....or ?....You get the idea. Still like you though....You're a cool dude
Why do you argue about topics that you don't know anything about? Or why you assume that because you haven't watched any games since a decade or so, that no one else does and when it becomes obvious to others you cover it up with irrelevant historical data from when you lived in Italy with your cousins in 1950? Ditto what Pete said. You're a likeable guy but man you fill the calabrese testa dura bill like a tight glove.
If Verratti was playing for Juve, I would call him Cuadrado. Anytime I have watched PSG, whether in Ligue 1 or the CL, he has yet to impress me. Part of the problem for Verratti at PSG is that he is just a part. There is plenty of more talent to carry the offensive side. So we get the same basic player when he is with gli Azzurri.
In 1950? Try from 2000-2005 and commuted back and forth until 2010/ I also speak with Italy on a daily basis for my business. .
Verratti probably wouldn't even start at Juve or at least would have a hard time finding a starting spot. Ligue 1, ma mi faccia il piacere!
lol You ruined your perception a long time ago so you exaggerate the little things he doesn't do exactly to your liking and ignore the rest. You mean like 1 of 11. Shocker.
