well as the team is playing currently, this game should be a forgone conclusion. I say 6-0 Deutschland.

    Also hopefully it's EM 08. ;)

This should not provide a problem for the team with the current form. Everyone seems to be gelling and Podolski shows no sign of scoring. If there was ever a player in recent memory with the potential to break Mueller's record Goldi Poldi is the ONE!

I'd like to see more of Trochowski in this game as well. It's important for Loew to keep building on him and not give up and just let him kinda fade into NT obscurity.

You have to remember he just got promoted from the U-21s. He's got loads of raw talent but he has a lot to learn, and he's got some excellent role models on the team.
Loew knows what he is doing; the boy will get his chance.

    Comparison so far:

    - Podolski scored 22 goals in his first 37 internationals.

    - Müller scored 43 goals in his first 37 internationals.

But Podolski will probably play for a longer period than Müller (who only played seven years for Germany) and thus he could come close to him in the later stages of his career (when he's approaching 90 or 100 caps...)

i think klose could possibly break klinsmann and voeller's mark.

forty seven goals..and klose has 33 and age on his side.

haha yeah, although that'd kind of cheapen it..

i've got a feeling that he won't score more than 1-2 goals against those teams in each game, cos he is usually unselfish and sets up others more..

he tends to score goals against the stronger teams..

Cyprus played one game at home this campaign and won 5-2 against Ireland, so I would not underestimate them, but of course I expect an easy win and stay on the top of the group in 2006 !!! Deutschland Über Alles :)

Yes...Deutschland über alles:)...We will beat Zypern....I think the only big rival in this group is Czech Republic...the other countries should be "easy" to beat.....I ´m very impressed by performance of our team....they will make it...
and score at least 4 goals....

That's true and should be a warning for us!

Nevertheless we shouldn't forget that Ireland's defenders were drunk during this game (after their excessive beach party the night before)... :D

I think personally that Enke has done enough to be over Hildebrand...however, the German coaches really like him and he's solid...so who am I to complain?

I agree, i dont see much improvement in hildebrand, what if lehmann were to get injured? we would be in trouble.

Freier has also been called up because of Schneider and Trochowski's injuries this weekend.

We already have a lot of players injured....more problems are not welcome. I hope this won't affect our performance.

Schneider sufered a leg muscle strain and Trochowski an achilles injury.

Pretty sure Schweiny, Ballack and Frings will start. Don't know about Odonkor, he might be injured as well becaues he hasn't been playing for his club as of late so Freier might just start.

Or Hitz who's been on fire this season and then Schweini on the right?

Hildebrand is still a solid keeper and good enough against Cyprus but Weidenfeller, Wiese and Enke (in that order imo) should clearly be ahead of him. I'm sure Löw will change that next year.
