Thank you all for the feedback. In a way its encouraging because his game seems more dependent upon skill, vision and strength (things that last into middle age) rather than agility, quickness or speed.
Whose decision was it to keep Zlatan from Sweden’s FIFA #WorldCup squad? The man himself, @Ibra_Official, joins FIFA World Cup Tonight to give his explanation. pic.twitter.com/sjJlYaa6Al— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) June 15, 2018
Los Angeles Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel, Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, and 63-year-old golfer Greg Norman are among the athletes who will be featured in ESPN the Magazine's 10th anniversary Body Issue. https://t.co/5mFWWGGPea— The Associated Press (@AP) June 19, 2018

I really don't like this move as a Laker fan. I've never really liked Lebron and now I'd bet Magic gets him to the stanc in an lafc hat
I'm indifferent to Lebron. Just glad that the Lakers v Boston games will have some meaning and intrigue again with the whole Kyrie/Lebron, Boston/Lebron, and of course Lakers/Boston storylines.
This makes me absolutely sick! I don't think a confirmed quitter is worthy of wearing our sacred purple and gold. Magic and RP have dissapointed me greatly with this move. I will never accept or wear a #23 jersey it's like a filthy rag compared to the great ones that hang on the rafters inside staples center. Zlatan you finally dissapoint me too, you welcome that choke artist and dare to call him a king when he acts more like a queen? I'm waiting on Kawhai it will be his team and he's a local lad so let's go get him lakers.
is Sweden better off without zlatan? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...no-star-names-better-without-Ibrahimovic.html
I have to give a shout out to the might Zlatan. Our team is really struggling but think where we would be without him. After only 10 starts (13 appearances) Zlatan's ten goals make him the 4th leading scorer in the league and one goal out of being tied with Zardes and BWP for second. (Well actually Z is tied for 4th but the other two other players have 17 starts each, so we'll give him the nod.) He's been able to move up the ladder so quickly because he currently has the best strike rate per 90 minutes of any player in the league with at least ten starts. Zlatan may be 36 but the guy's still got it. Let's hope he can keep it up. And of course it would help if the rest of the team did enough to make his goals matter.
In more non-Zlatan related news I used to be in the "NBA is boring - the game is all decided in the last minute" camp. But my son's love of the game has rubbed off on me and I've become a fan again. (I say again because I was a big Laker fan in the Magic/Bird days). The NBA is like any sport - the more you know the players and the teams and their stories and the games intricacies and all of the little subplots that are going on both during games and off the court the more interesting it becomes. Also I think the modern NBA - which allows actual defending and rewards team play - is more interesting now than the "watch Jordan (or Kobe) run 50 isos per game" days. So sports-wise for me it's soccer 1st, Duke b-ball 2nd (but fading due to one-and-dones), NBA 3rd, MLB World Series if Astros are playing 7th, ... curling 52nd, .... , NFL 124th. Not really a hockey fan per se but have enjoyed every live game I've attended.
That's interesting because it's the opposite for me regarding basketball. It has become boring for me because no one has any defined positions anymore. Also, it's gotten to the point where if you breathe on someone, it's a foul. Pretty much that series between Dallas and Miami several years ago where Dwayne Wade fouled his team to a championship is what broke the camel's back in terms of my interest in the game. Watching the fouls Harden consistently gets just reinforces my distaste for the modern game. Also, the modern game of just drive to the basket and score, or drive to the basket and kick out for a 3 is boring to me.
But it costs us his services in the next game as a result. Now, it is Colorado that we play next, so maybe this is a good gamble. But without Big Z we could still be vulnerable,
Honestly, I like the thinking. If Zlatan does a mid-week coast-to-coast round trip and plays on that turf field on Wednesday, after going the full 90 in 3 games in 8 days, what are the odds they play him Saturday in Colorado? I think they decided it would be better to continue to not have him play on turf, knowing that either way he wouldn't play in Colorado. I'd rather have a rested lion for our final 1/3 of season push...
Ah, he should just go to the All-star game. Just tell the coach he wants to only play 30 min. Then just hang out up front and knock in a couple goals. Then he could be our super sub against Colorado.
