Boston-born Kik Pierie made his Eredivisie debut on May 17, subbing in at the half at left CB for the first leg of the European competition playoff vs. Utrecht. On Saturday the 20th, he started for Heerenveen in the second leg and went the full 90. He'll turn 17 in July. Here he is in their starting lineup: Deze 11 moeten vanavond de lastige klus tegen FC Utrecht klaren. Come on boys! #utrhee pic.twitter.com/0FhnSOSOkT— sc Heerenveen (@scHeerenveen) May 20, 2017
@ChuckMe92, do we know anything about the younger Pierie? He's an '03 keeper. I can't find anything about him though. The younger Tillman is supposedly very good. Hard to tell if he's better than his brother, but he is a one of their more talked about talents among their younger youth teams. I've read very little about the younger Shashoua, although by the lack of info out there about him, I'm assuming he's not as good as his brother who was already playing for England at this time a year ago.
I can't find much of anything other than that he's with the Heerenveen U15s. The biggest question is whether Take is eligible for the US. Kik's lone tangible connection to the US is he was born in Boston while their physician father was doing a surgery fellowship at Mass General Hospital there from 99-00, before the family moved back to Holland. Both of the parents appear to be fully Dutch. Unless dad had returned to the US for his work at the right time, it doesn't appear Take or the other brother Stijn would be eligible for the US. I found the father's fairly detailed LinkedIn page and it doesn't show he was in the US other than that 99-00 period, so I am pretty pessimistic of Take's chances of being US-eligible.
Citizenship by birth is a pretty big tie. Whether he would be inclined to represent a country he feels no kinship for is another question entirely.
As mentioned on #TheXTRA, sources tell us 17 year old US U-20 star Josh Sargent is Werder Bremen bound. No timeline on announcement. #USMNT— Kevin Egan (@kev_egan) May 23, 2017

Schalke did not qualify for DFB Junioren Pokal this year. This was the Westfalen junior cup semifinal. In the decidedly lower-profile other semifinal, Lippstadt beat Erkenschwick. From what I gather, the winner of each state cup qualifies for next season's DFB junior cup. Bochum was Westfalen's representative this season.
Insert Michael Jackson eating popcorn meme.......... Werder Bremen: Signing Josh Sargent is ‘unrealistic’ The club’s sporting director says bigger clubs will push them out. http://www.starsandstripesfc.com/us...remen-transfer-news-josh-sargent-usmnt-rumors
Saw this earlier, starsandstripes with a questionable headline there. Maybe that's just not how I interpreted the Director's comments. He's quoted as saying a commitment from Josh is unrealistic at this time, which makes a lot of sense. He's one of if not the hottest player at the U20 World Cup while playing up a cycle, and his stock has been soaring for months. I wouldn't count on a gentleman's agreement to sign right now either.
Great win (tournament) from the US U20s, hearing even more good news for #usynt that a big-time prospect will be re-joining the federation— Joey (@USAprospects) June 1, 2017 "Re-joining" implies the player has played for YNTs before. Likely not Tim Tillman. I hope it's Kai Koreniuk or, even better, Edwin Lara. Edit: two other ones that would make a lot of sense are Ulysses Llanez and Efrain Alvarez. We shall see.
