Bradley has been written in pen in his position forever. The whole team was built around Bradley and Morales has shortcomings that don't translate to other positions (he can't pass well). I don't know if his passing improved last year. It had been improving a bit the years prior. He can certainly do what Beckerman did for the team probably. When Central Americans were hacking Pulisic at ever turn, I wonder if Morales would have stood by like Bradley and done nothing.
Klins didn't rate him. Even if Arena rated him, he didn't have enough time to integrate him into the team. I have to say, I was at this match in 2012 before the Olympic Qualification flop. Morales was excellent. I was always confused as to why he never got a real run out with the national team. Really happy to see him get another chance in the BL. https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2014/03/17/13/50/us-u23-mnt-defeats-mexico-2-0
He passed at a 50% clip in the BL. He is a good player for a bad team to have as he will break up attacks. JK was looking for something different. Arena had time to integrate him, that is silly, but wasn't interested or didn't even know he existed.
Yes, he was relatively young during Ingolstadt's last BL run, and his role was not that of creator, for sure. I admit that I haven't seen him play much in BL2. But I rate his technique higher than a lot of the CM's we have in the pool, regardless of the role he plays for Ingolstadt. It just seemed curious to me that Klinsmann barely showed interested in a guy who was fairly young and getting BL minutes during Jurgen's tenure. In terms of Arena - I agree with you, but he didn't think he had time.
In general this team along with Bonn's team don't get much love. Leverkusen, colognes parking lot gets more respect than the goats as well. Let's see if they can stay up for a season.

Profile (in German): (site may require registration) https://www.wz.de/lokales/duesseldo...dorf-hat-ueberzeugt-1.2716410?paidtime=signup Fortuna has been looking for the much cited "real types" for the new season in the Bundesliga. In Alfredo Morales, the club has definitely found a player who knows exactly what he wants on and off the pitch. And who can clearly communicate that. The conversation on the edge of the training camp in the Westerwald does not take long, as the former US national player says that he actually does not care what is written or reported about him. Shortly thereafter, he saves himself a diplomatic answer to the question of how he likes the first part of the season preparation with the Fortuna: "I think, no professional likes training camp. But you have to get through it, "says the 28-year-old, who is long enough to know how important preparation is. His game philosophy connects him with the coach. "We got along just as well in the talks." Morales does not believe that Friedhelm Funkel has already set a fixed position for him like the "Six". "I do not know about that. I am very flexible and can play anywhere, even as a center-back or in the field. "

Looks like Morales is going to go the whole game. I honestly haven't noticed him much, since I think Leipzig has had ~70% possession. I guess Morales kind of had an effective dummy in the lead-up to the Dusseldorf goal.
Yes, Dusseldorf looked good for the first 80% of that game, but Morales wasn't really part of it in anyway I could see.
