Henley sat on Wales' bench in six Euro qualifiers, but never got into a game. As Canadian fans could tell you (Asmir Begovic), that won't cap-tie a player.
RSL signed Stanford senior Corey Baird (1/30/96) to a homegrown contract today. https://www.rsl.com/post/2018/01/05/rsl-signs-corey-baird-clubs-15th-homegrown-signing

Grant Lillard signed as HGP for Chicago: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...-university-star-grant-lillard-homegrown-deal Kris Reaves signed as a HGP for Dallas: https://www.fcdallas.com/post/2018/01/10/fc-dallas-signs-homegrown-defender-kris-reaves I know nothing about either really but I believe both played for YNTs in their days.
I've got just one (early-cycle) U20 callup for Lillard with the 2015 U20s. He may have had earlier involvement. Same amount for Reaves a bit later in the same cycle.
Yeah..................Reaves got some appearances at the U18 and U20 levels, but was always on the fringes. He also moved to the FCD academy from the Atlanta area. Maybe MLS doesn't know that. Shhhhhhhh. I wasn't expecting this signing at all, although knew they needed to make signings in defense. I thought Cano and Terwege were more likely (and they still might be signed.) Very happy to announce I have signed with FC Maccabi Netanya! 💎 pic.twitter.com/t3DbSdYmoR— Jake Rozhansky (@Jroz12) January 11, 2018
In other #MLS Homegrown player news, I’m told #SportingKC has finalized the signing of UNC forward Zach Wright. Announcement coming soon.— Ives Galarcep (@SoccerByIves) January 13, 2018

If he comes back, he'd have to go thru the allocation ranking. Top three in that allocation ranking? 1) FC Dallas 2) LA Galaxy 3) DC United I guess Portland never offered him a homegrown contract (or he was never eligible for one)................or else they'd hold his rights like LAG held Arriola's.
I'm not sure that's the type of player FCD traded Zimmerman to LAFC in order to get....................... Omar Gonzalez was. [There were rumors about Lichaj before he decided to become a celebrity and re-sign with Forest.] So I imagine FCD would pass on Rubin (Although the transfer rumors with Barrios and Urruti have returned). Edit: Actually, the biggest rumor right now is Fabian Castillo returning to FCD. And Fabian Castillo is on the allocation list.............................
If this is the case then I can't see Dallas trading the #1 spot nor using it on Rubin. I could see LAG selling their spot as I saw an article about them needing TAM/GAM. I'm hoping that DC kicks the tires on Rubin as we need forwards and are already -2 on international slots. If we can use our allocation last year on Deshorn Brown, why not try a young American out.
He's on the draft-eligible list, along with some interesting names from YNTs past -- Miguel Polley, Ethan Decker, Ricky L-E, Caleb Duvernay, Mac Steeves, and more... https://www.mlssoccer.com/superdraft/2018/prospects
Conor Donovan landed with RGV FC. https://www.houstondynamo.com/post/2018/01/18/rgv-fc-adds-10-players-roster-ahead-2018-season
Ricky L-E seems to be really impressing. Good to see him return to prominence after that significant injury a couple of years back. He's now signed a contract with MLS before the draft (which MLS only does for seniors if its clear they're going to be an early-ish pick). Thank you @Stellar_Soccer for helping me achieve my dream. DC traded its #3 for some spendin' money. Tea-leaf readin', anyone? They could be trying to corner the market on 2015 U20s...
FCD just picked former US U17 and NYRB academy player Chris Lema in the 2nd round. Good value there I think. Direct competition for Brandon Servania.
Interesting transfer window note: Former U.S. Under-20 player Joel Soñora had offers from teams in MLS this winter but opted for Talleres.— Arch Bell (@ArchBell) January 25, 2018
Mikey Lopez signed with USL San Antonio. Seems like he should be a very solid contributor at that level -- he always seemed like someone who could play in MLS, but maybe not be a locked-in starter on a good team. Some skill and pretty good range. http://www.uslsoccer.com/news_article/show/880094?referrer_id=2427467
