Lucas Mendes signed with Richmond. https://www.richmondkickers.com/news_article/show/1006453 The Kickers' manager David Bulow was on the Total Soccer Show. He had some nice things to say about Aboubacar Keita (who picked up an injury with the U20s), but he really waxed poetic about Joe Gallardo.
Richmond also signed '01 defender Sam Moore to an academy contract. He is committed to UNC. https://www.richmondkickers.com/news_article/show/1005901

FC Dallas's reserve team is better situated in USL Championship instead of USL League One. These players are not challenged by League One. The "depth" players might be a little below USL Championship level right out of the academy, but players such as Pepi, Servania, Roberts are beyond League One before they step foot in the league. As for his chances to "level up" this season at FC Dallas, I doubt that'll happen. Ferreira is playing well as the starting CF for the first team, and they have two other options for the position. Pepi turned 16 in January, so there's no rush to throw him into the first team. I think that players shouldn't even be considered for first team minutes until they turn 16, so I think Pepi has just started putting himself in contention for the first team. It wouldn't be a bad idea to give him a Cup game or two this season, so next season he can be more of a regular with the first team.

It is probably too early to determine if the entire team will be unchallenged in USL League One. It has only been 1 game, which they won at home 3-2. I do think North Texas have players that can play at the USL Championship Level like Servania, but not certain the entire starting IX is that level. Also not sure there is really a giant leap between USL Champ and USL League One. I can see why USL Champ isn't about having games in stadiums with 200 people in them though. Not a great look for 2nd Tier League. Fine if it is glorified U23, which is more what League One is right now basically. As for Pepi. He has been scoring like crazy, which is super promising. Only saw two of the goals against Chattanooga, but the two I saw were due to shambolic defending. One was a back pass by the CB that literally went right to Pepi for a 1 v 1. LOL. You would definitely get less of that up a level.
We'll just have to see how this goes as the season progresses for FCD. There's talk of a lot more MLS reserve teams moving DOWN to the League One level..................... I think we need to be patient with Pepi, and let him play this season at the USL level. He's only 15/16. They may want to sign him to a full MLS deal, and then loan him back down. That might make a ton of sense. Then next season they can purge either Cobra or Badji (or both).............and put Pepi into the queue. By the way, folks have been trying to come up with a nickname for Pepi. The current front runner is El Tren. I like it! Oh............................and Servania is an interesting problem. We can't really complain as Pomykal and Cerrillo are getting tons of minutes for the first team. But playing in the USL League One is actually a step down for Brandon after he played well on loan in USL Championship last season. But I guess Pomykal, Acosta, and Grueso could all miss significant playing time this summer. So hopefully the opportunities will open up. I think Grueso is actually in the last year of his contract, by the way. So the club should be grooming Servania to take over. One would hope so anyway......................

Devin Vega is loan with FC Tucson now. It's not clear if this is long-term or short-term. Remember that FC Tucson is owned by Phoenix Rising. https://www.fctucson.com/news_article/show/1008908

Was supposedly at Bournemouth but joins the group of seemingly promising keepers in the SKC system (Thompson, Trejo, Krenecki).
