I tried to get a picture with the Barra flag in front of the Acropolis. It seemed like a thing to do since I can't be at the game (work meeting monday AM)...

Well, unbeknownst to me it was a national holiday.

And unbeknownst to me it is forbidden by law to fly any but the Greek flag at the Acropolis. (even though they are futbol mad, who knew?)

And unbeknownst to me there are people whose job it is to crack down on anyone doing just this kind of thing, a kind of Greek CSC, one of whom offered to discuss my disbelief in a squad car to the station if I really insisted on taking a photo. (too much caffeine, I think so...)

Anyway, got the flag back. Got a photo :D anyway. No diplomatic incident.

So have fun today, wave the big Barra flags, and please win, eh?

Did you explain to him how the Barra flag is international like the UN flag and has diplomatic immunity and is not answerable to local and national jurisdiction? That dumbass could've caused an international incident.

Well done, Andy! I hope you were Socratic in your determining the facts of your faux pas. This has GOT to go on the Barra gallery.

I've got your face at the game today, amigo.

I thought this was a thread about how far away the LA Galaxy were from making the playoffs.

Oh yea, hey Tino, how's that new team going for you? HA!

Send them to Owen, Duff, Srdan or Rob. Or hell, copy them all. They're bound to make it up that way. I have some from Hamburg I still have to send in.

Someone on these boards about a year or so ago had a picture of the Barra flag flying in Baghdad. We should get that in archives, too.

It's in there. Speaking of archives I've got a special project in the works. Anybody interested in helping out, look me up at the tailgate.
