That's good, gonna be hard to take him out of the side and its always nice to get instantly recognized in your first game, Barca was such a bad situation and he was handled poorly. Mina is going to be a fan favorite in England, he has one of the best dead ball specialists in Sigurdsson who will no doubt give him great service on set pieces. (not James or JFQ level but very good)

Happy to see Mina make a strong debut. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

Remember at Barcelona, he had that one La Liga game where he was impressive in his debut and nearly scored a goal and he was still at the bottom of the totem pole

I think his quote to the media about being disappointed about not scoring was taken out of context and he was always on Messi’s shit list for whatever reason....Mina probably beat him in FIFA hence the lecturing and benching. Rule #1 at Barca....never outplay Messi in a video game ;)

that stuff about Messi's crap imo. Actually most of anything the spanish media said about him was and is crap.

he's well liked by Marco Silva and he did very good against a top team. He would have to beat out Zouma from the starting 11 who I think is injured right now.

also, this post made me laugh

Best part of that video other than him looking healthy is that he is drifting towards the left and being used there.
That can help his development with Davinson Sanchez on the Seleccion since I think Davinson does best drifting towards the right side.

That was a solid display against a very tough side. Mina looks like he will fit very well in the EPL and that we will have a bastion in our defense for a decade or more. Very happy about his performance.

Was getting worried but glad he played well. He made a good choice going to Everton was worried he was going to try to go to another big club because of their name and wouldn’t get to play. So glad he didn’t go to Man U.

So the big match against Liverpool is this weekend. I am really excited to see what he does yet again against another big team in this league.

As soon as he played and only after a few games he's already solidified himself as the leader of the defense and you can just see he's going to be a big help for Everton going forward. Liverpool should be a tough game but they aren't playing great right now, hopefully Yerry has another big performance.

I am pretty excited because of that. Mina needs this and this league with the attention that he has can do wonders for him.

So Everton's goal keeper made perhaps one of the biggest ********s up so far in the season and Liverpool got an easy goal in the last minute of extra.

Mina was decent enough but not crazy amazing.

Mina was good for most of the game and did a good job against some very good attackers. His only weakness is the same issue that plagued him in his very short Barca career, he gets out of position when he doesn't have to and chases quicker attackers into areas where he's got a big disadvantage and if he gets beat the back 4 is opened up. He's good on the ball, he reads the game very well and he's very good when he's in his element but he gets over anxious trying to win tackles in areas that its too risky to dive in. We forget he's still very young, and other then this one weakness he's a great CB, but he almost cost Everton when he followed and got beat by a fresh Origi wide at the half way line when he didn't have cover behind.

He's already the leader at the back, gets on the ball constantly and played a good game overall and wasn't at fault for the loss, I love him as a player when he fixes this he'll be one of the best in the world, until then its a big weakness that you can't have to be at the highest level.

Dude is a ********ing giant compared to a lot of other players. But I am sure he's learning just how fast these players can be within a league like this. And thankfully, his size helps a lot with physical battles.

Played again today, seemed to be a bit out of position on the Newcastle goal and missed the cross with the striker finishing just behind him. Hard too say fully but I think he should have read it a bit better, still in early season form really since he's just played a few games and it looks like his positioning and instincts might be a bit rusty/and adapting to the league a bit.

What I found interesting was the number of duels he “lost” and the number of aerials he “lost” as well. Like you say, a matter of positioning.

To be fair to him I'd take his defensive stats for that game with a grain of salt since Newcastle was parking the bus for most of the game and the times they did attack it was almost always countering with Everton not really shielded by the midfield. Playing in a new back four with a language barrier has to be difficult to adapt and communicating with your goalie and other defenders is super import, I think he'll show his class but it does make sense that he's not at his peak but he's coming up on a very busy season for the EPL so will have lots of games and lots of chances to get embedded in the team and comfortable.

Not surprised. Manchester City is a very good team. Probably top 3 in Europe at the moment.

I think Everton’s coach crapped in his pants with a line of 5 in defense. Surprisingly the result was that there was a lot of space between the midfield and the defense and the defense was subpar, specially Mina who looked at least partially at fault in all three goals.

A defeat was expected but it was a terrible game for Yerry.
