US U16er Ian Hoffmann was invited to what appears to be a Germany U16 identification camp. That's a first: an American-born-and-raised, YNT-capped, Germany-eligible player at a DFB camp.

    http://abseits-ka.de/42291/sport/badische-u16-spieler-kicken-sich-ins-visier-des-dfb/

    Snip (translated):
With the U16-DFB-Länderpokal, the bfv-selection remained with the 15th place under their possibilities. Eleven players from the Baden squad received invitations to the DFB.

With a direct nomination for the next international match of the U16 national team, Ian Hoffmann was rewarded by Karlsruher SC. Then he will be in the squad together with the two Baden selection players Amid Khan Aga and Antonis Aidonis (both TSG 1899 Hoffenheim), who could not be present at the national cup.

German-American midfielder Sidney Friede is on Germany's provisional squad for the U19 European Championship. No Tim Tillman or Corey Anton.

Henry Mashburn ended up making no appearances as GK for Honduras in their 3 matches at U20 finals.

Our U15s would be more powerful with him.

    Imagine a front four of

    Pynadath(LW)-Tillman(CF)-Alvarez(RW)
    Reyna(CAM)

That is such a potent attack, but we probably gotta recruit Tillman and Alvarez back to the USA.

I feel like it is Llanez though.

Yeah, I really have no clue.

I'd prefer Alvarez because I think he's a much better player. Llanez certainly isn't bad, but he's been kind of underwhelming when I've watched him play. Alvarez straight up dominated the last match I watched him play, and that was as the youngest player on the field. Most were a year or two older than him.

So he was talking about Jesse Gonzalez. Looks like no one here predicted that one, we were all thinking younger.

I think since in the tweet it says #usynt that we all thought younger and Gonzalez at this point is a senior team prospect since he's past U20 age.

Are you sure? He was asked on twitter, and gave a non-answer.

Gonzalez was also never in the US set-up. I don't believe he's played for the USA at any level.
