The kid that openly said he'd prefer to play for Mexico, didn't think he'd be playing for us, and then yet another FCD keeper. Good thing our '99 keepers are very good. Although Avilez is good, I don't think he's as good as Scott or Lopez.

Yes, but there's always time for Lopez to switch to Mexico.

No, I was just being a wise guy in light of Alvarez and Llanez switching to Mexico.

In the U2os, Noah Powder starts for T&T against Costa Rica. Taofik Lucas-Walker is on the bench.

In previous action today, El Salvador beat Bermuda 3-1 with GK Alan Carrillo staying on the bench. Hector Pineda doesn't show up on any rosters so far, so might be a scratch from the tourney.

Huh? So rejected a Germany call up to the same world cup? Is that right? Must have gotten a really good offer from Tab.

You're probably reading a bit too much into this. We'll take his word that he was sick until he shows up on the provisional roster.

It is only 2 months away but I think its a stretch. Heck me and almost everyone I know has been sick over the last month or two. Not everything is a conspiracy.

Just back from a camp in Mexico City Alvarez won't turn 15 until June, and it appears he's now consistently playing with the U18s, although he'll still occasionally play with the 16s. I think he's also training with Los Dos. But if he and his family have decided that he plays with Mexico internationally I don't know that there's much U.S. Soccer can do to bring him back.

I hope Kai Koreniuk and Kik Pierie were watching the most recent WCQ matches of their two countries' senior teams.
