Can we say that the experience of the Horizon League finale won on PKs will help them? Joel Sundell the Raiders' GK saved two.... Can he do it again?
Well a hard fought contest. Michigan dominated possession, but did really nothing worthwhile from it- Defenses were tight. A softly kicked PK was the difference.....
This is the end of my family's journey in college soccer. It was a tremendous story. We got so much from it. Later on, I will write something (long surely) about it. Thanks guys, you have been wonderful mates during these six years.
Thanks for this. Michigan's PKs were ALLvery well taken. One WSU's was not. The better team won. It's not so cruel. I cannot like PK series... usually.... and not today... We love football because of the pains and joys it gives us.
And usually I don't put in front my sons' performances in these threads, as it is a team game. However today, as it is Jérémie's last match in his college soccer career, I will say that Jérémie had a tremendous game. He was everywhere: headers, foot clearances, tackles, interceptions: only 2 SoGs for Michigan. With his defensive mates, he can be proud of his final college soccer game. We will have a great closing memory, which will last forever.
Hell of a run. The Charron's leave college soccer with their heads held high and nothing to be ashamed of. Please don't be a stranger. You are, and always will be, one of us.
Every father likes a good reason to be proud. After my son finished his college career I wrote up a compendium of his achievements, sort of a bookend to the "soccer resume" I put together during his college search days. He didn't want to talk about it - "It's over". However - at this Thanksgiving family dinner we will be meeting his new serious girlfriend. I'm going to make sure she gets a full background report.
