Oh, I don't know about that. My son's last game was in 2013, and I'm still hanging out here. But of course my last personal acquaintance player is graduating this year, so there may be less incentive. I know a couple of coaches, though, so maybe I'll stick around a while. Is it fair to say I know a coach on a first-name basis when he recognizes me but always calls me by the wrong name?
There are soccer people that know I'm going to use a different name, but it's the same name every time and they just answer to it. I can't be blamed that their parents named them wrong!
The first couple of times I corrected him. Then I figured I would just be silently polite as long as he remembered my kid's name right. Maybe I look like some Robert he knew once. On a sort of related matter - my kid's roommate's twin sister played for a NAIA school. In her Freshman ear, that team made it into the post-season playoffs and won their first game, but then had to forfeit because the coach had neglected to put one of the subs he used on the game roster sheet.
We love Tweeter, don’t we? I saw my son, smiling to the camera The Raiders have landed.... 🐺⚽️ #RaiderUp | #NCAASoccer pic.twitter.com/k9bqdH74nc— Wright State Men's Soccer (@WSU_Mens_Soccer) November 21, 2019
