I'll be there in front of Traxx at 9 to meet up with everyone. Can't wait. I'm going to try and go to the Korea/Greece watch party at Staples center nice and early beforehand. Do you know if there is anywhere in Union Station to watch the Argentina/Nigeria match?

Great turnout today. I'd say the crowd was 85% US 13% English and 2% Argentinian.
PLUS! Cameo appearences by Cobi Jones and Pete Vagenas.

Only bummer is the attempt to march on Hollywood & Highland sort of fizzled out. Was looking like 20 people, ended up as 6.

No worries, doubt I can make that match. Need to conserve my time-off requests for the knockout matches. ;)

Turns out they weren't the only Cameos. Actress Kate Bosworth was there too:

    Hello Everyone,
For Friday we are going to meet up at Dillions Irish Pub Hollywood. Dillions Irish Pub" across the street from the Hollywood and Vine Metro station next to the Pantages theater. $3 pints and bottles all the time, with $5 22oz beers. Cocktails are $4. It's a little more spacious than Capitol City, and the food is the price you would expect from a place on Hollywood. But who goes to watch a soccer match, (World Cup no less) to eat? They will open at 7am for this. Hope to see you all there. www.dillonsirishpub.com

40ft screen and a burger shop next door? SOLD. :D

Time to drag out the MTA timetables again. The Gold Line has jack and squat for early morning runs. The 5:06am will get me to Union by 5:34, or the 5:26 would arrive at 5:54. Shall we attempt another meetup at Union?

Problem with the Montalban is that it has actual seats everywhere and not a lot of people stand. If the US scores, there's not a lot of room to jump up and down and find everyone when youre in the middle of a section. Great place to watch a match, just not one you're so emotionally invested in like the US ones.

I think it's best that we all just head to Hollywood directly this time. That early, people are bound to be running late anyway. So the sooner they get there, the better.

Brother In Law came home for summer break and he's the only other soccer fan in the family. Figured it would be good family mojo to head to the inlaws and catch the game with him. Wanted to drag him to the Montleban but no dice. :/

    Y'all have fun.

Goooooooood I should have gone, but it was nice watching it with family.

So now? I've put in a half-day request for Saturday. We are marching on Hollywood and if I get it approved I'll be there!

We'll be meeting back at Dillions Pub.

We actually marched on Hollywood with a much bigger group yesterday. It wasn't a Lakers march by any strech of the imagination, but we did have two police escorts.

Oictures will be up on our facebook and myspace soon.
