..and suck so much. Excellent match. I don't like penalties deciding a game, but this extra time has been electric.
Man i can't believe I worked till 3 and didn't have to miss the whole thing. Still think penalties are a bullshit way to finish
Excellent game overall. Once Russia decided to play, it was a very open game. Great extra time. Still do not like penalties as a decider, but good game.
In the spirit of openness, I picked Belgium before the tournament but with the final four I think this is my hope (not expectation) for the order of the finalists: 1) Croatia 2) Belgium 3) France 4) England Only the fourth spot was easy to pick. I don’t think England has had a beautiful game so far. The rest have at least given us memorable games. Belgium still should win but there’s no way to consider France out of it. Neither Croatia or England is as good as either of the other two but Croatia has played some good games. England has a great scorer in Harry Kane and a great playmaker in Dele Ali but just seem to lack in relation to the rest of the field. YMMV.
Fun fact: First World Cup final four not featuring at least one of Germany, Italy, or Brazil (except 1930, where most of Europe declined the invitation).
like all right-thinking people, I am rooting for a Belgium-Croatia final, preferably won 5-4 by Belgium, after 4 lead changes. I fear a France-England final decided on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
I am pulling for England v. Belgium. I would be okay with Belgium v. Croatia. I, too, am concerned about a dire England v. France snoozefest. I don't think that would happen, as England and France have good attacking options, but...
Agreed, but I would have been happy to see that final...if only to watch Brazil lose. The Final itself would be excruciating, but the result would be exquisite. To see Brazil lose any day is a good day. To see Brazil lose to Germany in Brazil in 2014 was the best.game.ever. To see Brazil lose to a team like Russia would be great, much like seeing Spain lose to Russia. Happier that it is not happening, though.
