It's a lazy analysis imo. During the confeds against Germany he was forced to play guys out of position due to injury and I think card accumulation. My biggest complaint was starting Gio over Marco in mid in that game. I think his biggest issue is insisting on playing from the back when good teams are pressing, he constantly exposes the slow defense. We have slow CBs and crappy fullbacks that tend to make terrible turnovers.
Tbf it's hard to tell how the game would have played out but Germany looked like they could score whenever they decided to.

I don't know what the stats are like but we make silly turnovers anywhere is my impression. Also I've never seen a Mexico with as much ineffective possession.
Rafa should be the 23rd guy on this team, he deserves to have his 5th wc to captain since gigi is out. No 23rd player is going to give enough value on field to make up for what rafa gives off of it You put rafa in last 20 mins vs SK when we are up 3 to get his 5th wc to captain in
This sweeden team is no better than the 2014 croatia team. This korea team is weaker than previous korean teams. If im correct, the majority of this korean team if from the 2012 olympic team.
I was focusing more on competitive tournaments, specifically the Confed Cup, but it did filter a bit into this hex. Chepo era was pretty bad also though.

You said it yourself " we always make it out of the 2nd round" regardless if we have had a tough group or not. That means nothing if we can't do anything after that.....................and that is the problem we have not done nothing even though we have gotten out of our group so many damn times!!! This time around we have another very interesting group..............in which i would like to think and hope that Mexico could advance............but then what??? When i say "were Mexico" i mean that when we are competing against the best, and are actually doing good, and hell actually winning, we somehow someway always find a way to do something or somethings to ruin it at the end and be sent home packing. Were winning and taking it toe to toe against a powerhouse so to speak, only for reality to set in that "were Mexico" and all of a sudden we completely flop, because reality has set in around the 85th minute. We lack that killer instict, and that all comes from the mind, but we have been there many, many times, and have always had our heart broken again and again.........................................and again. I know that we can compete, and i know that we could win............but how many times are we going to pass the 2nd ground, and stop taking it for granted???
