FOX has brought us what is basically a reversion to ESPN circa 2006, complete with all the Lalas you can handle.

Just an outrage for Iceland to have sold out for the old Rory Delap special and not take into account Nigeria's speed on the break. If the result holds they deserve it for such a low percentage gamble.

I will never understand why players opt for a short run-up on penalties. Such a waste of an advantage.

Belgium is the best team I've seen play so far in this tournament. I'll be interested to see how they perform vs England.

Nah, their crap coach will doom them. And that defense is less than convincing.

IF England beat Panama tomorrow I would guess both teams will play their reserves and attempt to not win.

Do you realize that Group G plays Group H in the knockout round?

I doubt they both play all reserves

Ok so what’s that have to do with anything ?

You might rest a few players ( age or injury) and go for draw . But top seed is important

You were talking about the Group F teams with the rest of your post as if you were suggesting that they could end up playing Mexico with a win or something along those lines.

Top seed isn't important at all.

It depends on the path through the knock outs. Second in England's group might be preferable. Depends on how the other groups finish.

I thought there was no way this world cup could be as good as Brazil 2014, but it just keeps getting better and better. Amazing finish to Germany v Sweden.

I responded to Placid post about resting players. He was talking about England group. I don’t see anyone just benching all starters even though it is possible

Then I talked about hoping Germany would lose.

Pretty good game but had the end spoiled by a friend posting about it and it ended up in my e-mail....as I had to watch it on delay.

But pleasant to see Marco Reus have a good game. He missed two cups with injuries shortly before the tournament.

I've also enjoyed Switzerland, as they have some current and ex-Gladbach players I can cheer for.

There’s no way England would have beaten USA by this scoreline. Perhaps 7 or 8 nil but not 6-1

Things is, I felt like Panama would've had a chance to pull an upset on someone in '14. It was mostly the same squad of course, but they weren't all in their mid-30's then.

Not to beat a dead horse (yes, we lost to a T&T B team), but this is how Panama got there.

In all the years I played the game, I never put a ball into the net with my head. Ever. I can't even remember doing it in practice. And I'm pretty sure I could have scored England's first goal against Panama. I've never seen a guy that wide open in the middle of the penalty area in my life.

If you have access to FoxSportsGo, I highly recommend the "Match 360" view if you're tired of listening to the Fox announcers.
