Barrios is a warrior, there's no doubt about this guy's heart and temperament. Everything turned positive for Boca when Barrios was put into their starting formation last year.

But Fabra really continues to be very impressive and getting better each game -- I didnt expect him to have such a peak!

His futbol IQ has matured incredibly this season. And on the NT, Pekerman seems to be giving him more freedom to attack.
I can only hope that when the world cup hits he's in prime form. Timing could not be better.

    How is Fabras defending?

Looks very good at crossing and finishing which is great if he is going to play winger but if his defending isn’t there I fear a counter with him and Arias who isn’t the best Defender either

defending doesnt always come with the ball and Fabra would many times be caught behind the ball on counters as if he was ball watching. That's why I mentioned his futbol IQ has impressed me because he's not some 'carro-loco' running up the flanks. He has much more purpose in his attacking but also defends his space well most of the time. Partly, that has to do with players like Barrios also covering his back but it also has to do with his understanding of when attacking makes sense. He also cuts inside the space in his runs as opposed to being so predictable and just trying to outrun his defender up the flank (something Arias tends to do)

Fabra has become one of my father's favorite players. Always talks about how cool he is with the ball and how he shows "ganas" when going forward.

I am still a bit concerned about his defensive play but it is hard to argue against his improvement since the Centenario.

Back to Barrios, these friendlies can be a good way of testing him without all the pressure.

If he's so damn good why does he suck for our national team and is cursed by our fans whenever he plays?

I think we all have to keep in mind that Fabra plays like Roberto Carlos at Boca too and when he plays for Colombia he is not as good.

That said, I think Barrios can play well for Colombia. Just needs more experience.

nice to see 3 of our boys being integral to Boca's success. it would be nice to see Pekerman utilize all 3 at the same time in the March/May friendlies (pending Cardona's status??). that kind of chemistry will give us an edge in Russia.

Sebas has been stuck in purgatory forever. I would be highly surprised if he makes it to Russia.
