Ramos picked up a hip and adductor injury last night. It doesn't look too serious but he won't play against Espanyol as a precaution.
So Varane has a muscular injury and will be out for at least 3-4 weeks. He will miss the games vs. Napoli, Las Palmas, Eibar, and Betis. The one I'm worried about is Napoli's game, I hope Pepe will be fit. Nacho stepped up this season but I'm much more confident with Pepe in the back on a hostile ground.
Not sure why he wasn't called up to the match squad vs. Valencia. I thought before the match he should have started because we've overplayed Varane this year.
Varane will miss Clasico and Bayern games. http://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/2017/04/04/58e3704f268e3e671b8b45a4.html
This is ridiculous. How many times have we seen this shit of players getting injured in training working their way back from injury, or in their first game back from injury?
Pepe is 4 yellows away from suspension, Ramos is 3 yellows away, Nacho is 2 yellows away. Should be ok in that department I think. Of course, potential injuries is always a concern. Thankfully we rotated Ramos, and Pepe hasn't played all that much this year, so neither should have a fatigue problem.
We need to be careful with Pepe. Make sure he's fit for derby, Clasico and Bayern ties. His experience is needed. Limit his minutes in other games with adequate rest.
Next 6 games: Leganes, Atleti, Bayern... Gijon, Bayern, Barca. Leganes and Gijon will be all bench players.
Pepe is just coming off an injury, just like Varane, and has been down multiple times this season. It's not really something that is out of the realm of possibility given what just happened.
Pepe hasn't really played more than 3 games in a row this season for one reason or another. I'm highly doubtful of his fitness levels and ability to play all the games we have in April especially as they are intense encounters now with Varane out.
Btw, Nacho is 1 yellow away from suspension. If he gets a yellow against Gijon, who do we start in the Clasico? Lol now im really starting to panic I would imagine we would start Casemiro at center back and Isco in the midfield
