I have a news ticker that pulls from numerous publications from across Europe. I post the ones that are interesting or seem to get a good deal of play with the various publications.
They’ll still do it, just because it’s a big name signing. Bigger issue is how they’ll find playing time for some everyone, with them also getting Griezmann
While Wenger is still there??? I dunno about that. Overmars was rumored a lot the 2nd half of last season. Another possible issue is that The Ajax (Dutch) Way seems under a serious cloud these days. All that said, I'm all in favor of a DoF at Arsenal. And I have nothing personally against Marc in that role. So maybe give it a go?
Chambers extended through 2021. Ozil's agent claiming that he wants to stay in England and talks with Arsenal are going well.
Rumors/opinions I read prior to hearing the agent say they were in talks were speculating the Ozil would re-sign because no one would be willing to pay him the salary we offered. Even heard yesterday that ManU was backing off due to salary demands. I'd be ok keeping him but if we do I would really like to see is move him to a more central free roaming role (3-4-1-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-1-2) where he would be more effective as a passer. Imagine is Laca can recruit Greizmann and we play the two of them up top with Ozil in a CAM/SS role feeding them balls.
Ozil's heat maps suggest that Arsenal is playing a de facto 3-4-1-2 with Ozil playing a central free roaming role.
We basically need a 9 or 10 new players. The only guy on the team who's really really good and is going to stay is Lacazette. Everybody else is too old, too unreliable, too injured, or not good enough. The problem is incredible in it's depth.
Honestly We just need a quality cb Passing and sitting cm Another quality forward If we stay in the current formation If ozil leaves then I would buy a mobile forward and play 2 behind laca
Major rumors from the last week or so... - Ozil is likely to be sold in Jan. ManU is the most consistently mentioned destination. - AW wants Anthony Martial and is trying to get him as a condition of selling them Ozil - Arturo Vidal wants out of Bayern. Inter is making a run at him. AW is considering a bid in an effort to shore up the MF and to convince Alexis to stay. - We are interested in CB Nikola Maksimovic from Napoli - We are considering another run at Marco Rues - AW is attempting to re-sign Jack. Reports claim Jack is interested in staying. - We are being linked with PSV winger Hirving Lozano and Bordeaux winger Malcom
United can get Ozil for free in July why would they pony up in January AND sell Martial???? that cat can’t be in that big of a doghouse with Mou, he plays regularly.
Albeit unlikely but I would be pretty intrigued if Laca could recruit Griezmann and AW could snag Martial. Lots of interesting possibilities with a forward 3 of Laca, Griez & Martial.
Your scenario may be more likely but... - What if Martial pushes for an exit looking for more PT or to play more of a ST role vs LM/LW. - If Mou wants Ozil bad enough it may not be worth the risk waiting until July. By then Ozil could re-sign with us, decide he wants to head back to Spain, decide to go play for Bayern, etc... Costs money to get him now but then you have him.
Tons of rumors flying around that we are hiring Barcelona's transfer director Raul Sanllehi to replace Dick Law.
AST has made a laughable statement about not wanting to extend Gazidis' contract. Let's do the lesson again - THERE IS NO BOARD
It was depressing for me to say the least, to think that from a combined Spurs-Gunners XI, that it's at least plausible to choose 11 Spurs. There's a world where Alexis and Ozil are better footballers than their Spurs counter parts, but current form in club football is not that world.
We should. Jack has to have some resale value, and we need to get guys under contract. One unfortunate shame of this summer's transfer disaster is that the same thing is going to happen again unless we do something about it. Ramsey, Giroud, need to be resigned. Cech and Monreal have to be resigned if we want to keep them. Welbeck needs to be resigned or sold. Walcott needs to be sold. Wenger tries to use his own contract uncertainty as an excuse for poor performance last year, but players especially in the middle of their careers care a lot more about their own contracts than the coach's. And we've got a mess all over.
