I know Casemiro is loved by all, I like him as a player too, but, as witnessed against Sporting, our fortunes defensively just cannot rest on this player alone, they overran us Casemiro or no Casemiro, we play best and are much more solid when we have a front three that helps out the midfield, against Sporting with Ronaldo back to just hanging about mostly ( for whatever reason) and Benz not looking ready, we absolutely suffered, it's plain to see,

Yes having Casemiro helps, but against tough or any team what we need the most is what ZZ kinda managed to achieve last season, which is for that front three to help out more on the defensive side of the ball, that to me is far more important than just having Casemiro, for sure it's a combination of the two that makes us harder to beat, that's only logical, 10 helping with defense rather than 7, or one super duper defensive mid, it's another reason I like watching the subs so much , Morata, Lucas, Marco, they are running all the time, on both sides of the ball

 

I pray its not anything serious. He's a key player for us.

 

Giving Casemiro the title 'key player' is very overrated. Defensively he's a beast and one of the beast, but a keyplayer in our system? Nah.

Totally agree with Digital. Our forwards need to defend high and not defend 'back'. When the opponents defense go the ball our forwards walk back to 'defend', but they should defend higher and pressure their backline.

imo, the midfield and attack under Carlito was the best I saw since Del Bosque. 4 man midfield (Modric, Kroos, James, Isco) and two attackers. This team didn't need a casemiro, because we had more the ball. But now teams like Sporting and Osasuna are giving ball possession in Bernabeu, which is absolutely unthinkable. Zizou needs to get his sht together, cuz these past games were meh.

 

When you consider the style and contributions of our other midfielders, I think it's fair to say Casemiro is key, at least until Kovacic too can show he's got similar kinds of hustle.

The best part about Casemiro isn't even what he does, it's what he allows Kroos and Modric to do.

Kroos will play his position and one of James, Isco, or Kovacic will be the 3rd midfielder along with Kroos & Modric.

Crazy isn't it? Coentrao is so close to being healthy I can't to wait to see him back in action. I bet its still a few weeks before we see him though.

I love James but I honestly dont like him in the midfield 3, I would put Isco in the midfield 3 before I would put James.

No. Kante easily can be even better than Casemiro. he would have been perfect player to compete with Casemiro.

 

Of course, Casemiro is the first one to get a lengthy injury in the season. Just our luck
