Slowly, as we all come to terms with the events of the past year, it is the progress that we have to embrace. It is the emergence of a new wave of US Nats. I won't go into the names, we know who is making noise now, but it occurred to me that in 2026 our guys that are emerging now will be the vets of the cycle in 2026. Barring injury and the unknown rise of a late bloomer, we have an idea of some of our leaders into next cycle. But out there is a 12yo that is gonna turn heads and become a new darling in the USA. He will be doing this at home, in America. I know it's too early to predict or even venture a guess as to a name, but it is the thought of some kid at a tournament maybe this weekend that will be the new starlet in 2026. Discuss.
They’re not 12, but Pynadath and Nyeman are both exciting prospects that could really break out in 2022
Based on what I've watched, Moses Nyeman is pretty clearly the best prospect born after 2000 right now. He's a November '03. Evan Rotundo is another one whose game I like. He's an '04. But its definitely early to know for sure with any of this.
Probably someone you’ve never heard of. Established stars 8 years from now are hard enough to predict. But you’re talking about some 18-22 year old kid in 2026. Meaning, he’s somewhere between 10-14 now, if you can predict that, I’m coming to you for lottery numbers.
The most popular boy's name in 2006 was Aidan and the most popular surname Smith, so I reckon Aidan Smith has a better chance than most.
Repped but the rising star will be air conditioning by 2026 https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/t...nd-world-this-week/ar-AAA2as6?ocid=spartanntp "Last week, a weather station at Ouargla in Algeria’s Sahara Desert, reported a maximum temperature of 51.3C on 5 July, the highest temperature reliably recorded in Africa." 51.3C is a hair under 125F
Based on how quickly the name became popular I imagine most are pre-k. Algeria 2030! Weather forecast for Doha, Qatar tomorrow is 46C/114F.
It's a lame ass American affectation, but those of us who live in areas with large Irish immigrant populations know many who are the real deal.
Jonathan Lewis is starting to look the business. 117 minutes (1.3 matches), 1 goal 2 assists, 7 shots, 2 on target.
He should play more, but he's 21 already. In 2026, he'll be 29. There aren't many rising stars who are that age.
How long ago did Cristiano Ronaldo knock up that American waitress? Maybe that kid if it was 10-12 years ago or so.
Just turned 21 (same as as Dempsey was when he was starting to emerge), went to college for a year, and wound up with a club resistant to play young Americans over high-priced foreign talent. Context matters, like it does for Carleton. Not sure the point about his age for a World Cup 2 cycles from now. So he'd be young enough for this cycle, next cycle, hell maybe even a 3rd if he stays healthy and is good enough. That's a chance a big career still. Worth a shout now.
There was no pessimism. I've said many times that Vieira shafted him with playing time, and I was thinking yesterday that the lineup the new coach initially put up out did everything he possibly could to make sure he didn't start Lewis. I'm merely pointing out that I don't think a 29 year old is considered a rising star in football. I think naming a player who'd be any older than early/mid 20's is missing the point of the thread.
