So from a young age teams will play with a 7 foot donkey up top and another target man rw to win headers vs fullbacks Right
I don't think Allardyce is the dinosaur people expect him to be, he's just pragmatic. It wasn't that long ago he was beating Spurs with Ravel Morrison as a false #9. There's no point complaining about his appointment now, the deal is seemingly done. Let's wait and see what the team actually looks like with him in charge.
Sam Allardyce's first team talk as England manager...https://t.co/XgEufAaIiD— JOE (@JOE_co_uk) July 21, 2016
The problem is that there aren't any good English managers, and haven't been since Bobby Robson passed away. When was the last time the Premier League was won by an English manager? When was the last time a team managed by an Englishman even made it to the Champions League?
The Premier League has never been won by an Englishman. Two Scots though. The last Englishman was Howard Wilkinson in 1992. The last time an Englishman got a team into the Champions League was Harry Redknapp with Spurs in 2010. He would have done it in 2012 if Chelsea hadn't won the it the year before.
Realistically, how many 'really good' players have we got? Ali is overrated and wilshere is never fit Kane is great for the yids but shit for England and Rooney is passes it Who is actually world class or even close to world class?
Allardyce has never had access to the leagues best domestic talent. If he packs the team with athletic beasts , his style of football might do something..
No one atm. We have plenty of good players, but hardly play to their potential for England, except Alli against Germany. I feel he's the closest and could eventually become world class since he's only 20.
I was about to go somewhere with that. England will be the most skillful team he's ever managed, which says a lot.
Hearing that he is a statistics guy.. sounds like Don Revy or Peter Moores for the cricket team.. players dont want to hear about statistics.
What do you make of this: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...ch-about-assistant-paul-clement-a7148916.html
The article talks about a part-time role so presumably he wouldn't be asked to leave Bayern. I'm guessing that what they're proposing is similar to Steve Holland's dual roles with Chelsea and England under-21s.
Compensation still not been agreed with Sunderland. Steve Bruce has apparently left Hull. It's gonna be an Allardyce/Bruce dream team.
My thoughts... http://wp.me/p5ioea-sE Though it just goes to show the incompetence of the FA that the process is stalled because they can't agree to a deal with Sunderland!
English England managers have to be paid a lot of money as there aren't any bungs available like there are in the club game....
