Blanc, Metsu, uh Hoddle, Tigana, Girard..

Me, I would really really like to see Blanc as the new coach. We obviously know nothing what he'll do as coach, but I think a chance on him would be good. I seem to favor people in the France squad who actually yell at thier teammates (not of just yelling encouragement, but that they've screwed up, and I've only seen that in Blanc, Barthez, and Djorkaeff) to let them know they've screwed up.

Also, he has the respect of the team as well as knowing them and the experience of winning the WC and Euro. Man management and experience as a player is just as important and it makes up for his nil coaching experience, I think.

Tigana, he's starting to scare me, I don't know if I want hm as NT coach, Weren't there problems w/ him at Fulham w/ players and his man management?

Um, Hoddle, I really really do not want... please.

1st choice is Domenech, I don't want Tigana. Blanc should definitely be the coach some day, but he should gain some experience first.

I'm still worried about Hoddle, though, I believe it is only himself saying he has a good chance.

But, would they really go for him with such good prospects of French nationality?

Domenech seems the wisest choice. He worked with the young guns that will lead France in a few years and might facilitate their integration to the first team.

    Hoddle... :(

Hoddle........LOL....that's a good one! Heard he was a great player, but a losey gaffer!

Wenger....very good selection, but I don't think he would do it.

Houllier....I thought the idea of hiring a new manager was to improve the French national side...lol.

So what's the story on Domenech? Where has he managed/coached before?

    Thanks.

He coached Mulhouse and Lyon, then
the France Espoirs aka les Bleuets (under 21, I believe)

Pretty good understanding of the game. Good communication skills. Maybe our members residing in France can tell more about him. I remember him when he played in Bordeaux and I listen to him commenting games from time to time on TV5 (TPS satellite if I remember).

    I would vote for him.

    About the other favorites:

Tigana - I really don't know his coaching style. Had problems at Fulham and I think he's involved in a lwasuit with the owner of the club (not sure though). I believe he has Platini's backing.

Blanc - Probably a great guy but lacks coaching credentials. kinda like Platini when he became the NT coach.

    Not the greatest of choices.

Good, because putting Tigana in charge would have made no sense to me. Domenech know's all these players very well, the guy has been in charge of the youngsters for over a decade, I don't foresee any big problems.

Why such a lame candidate list for the vacant managers job for one of the best teams in the world? How Tigana, Hoddle and Blanc could be considered when collectivley they have achieved next to nothing as managers is beyond me, but hey, with a list like that it kind of makes me think I could have a shot at getting the job, where can I apply :)

    [Irony] They didn't retain Hoddle... :( [/Irony]

Wise choice. Domenech worked with all the prospects that will lead France in Germany 06 and Euro 08 (if he survives...)

Blanc should maybe get a real manager job before leading Les Bleus :D

Perfect way to allow the Federation to see where Deschamps' reputation is going in the next few years.
