Haven't had Scotch all summer, so tonight I'll be opening a bottle of Bunnahabhain 12 to welcome fall. Big fan of this one.
Anyone tried this one? Great King Street Artist's blend.. A delicious whisky for under $40 bucks. I like that is bottled at 43% ABV, no caramel coloring added and no chill filtration. Compass Box did an excellent job with this blend.
I remember sometime back around April the Johnnie Walker sailing yacht anchored in Cartagena de Indias promoting the Blue. At the party or event they were giving demonstrations and serving it in cocktails!
Central America introduced me to using JW (though not Blue) as a well mixing spirit. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it with the real Coke (meaning sugar and a glass bottle) they have there.
My bro does Scotch and Cola. I would be if it was a single malt (he did do it with a single malt once in front of me) but I'm not so with a blend. Although anything above JW Black I would be
Costco had Oban 14 for $47 or so over the weekend so I got a bottle. Never have tried it but I'm slowly but surely getting all Scotch regions in my cabinet. I also have almost all of JWs selection in there.
Great price for the Oban. I need to track Costco's specials a lot better. The area around the distillery was one of my favorite places while road tripping around Scotland.
Got this at COSTCO yesterday. Read the reviews and sounded solid. Was going to pass it up but my wife convinced me I won't get it at that price ($74) again so I did it . Haven't opened it yet. Reviews are outstanding though.
Very fine whisky. I REALLY enjoyed it. The aroma was very pleasant and not overpowering. Smooth but with a very nice character. Just had a wee dram for a nightcap. Definitely recommend it.
weird bottle, but I am enjoying it. I could've sworn I read about this one on this thread, but I might be mistaken. I think this one tastes like apple cider.
Bump. The curious case of the Texas Mickey. Generally won as a bachelor party prize, or purchased for a party. Won a sucker like this once. The pump, sadly, is useful
How have I only just found this thread? Current bottles on the go: Aberlour A'bunadh. Cask strength Speyside, fiery and wild. Glenlivet Nadurra. Sherry cask matured but not as sweet as you might expect, very pleasant. Suntory Hibiki 12. Japanese whisky is very big right now and this is an absolute beauty. Light, floral, delicate and gorgeous. Paul John single cask. Matured in the heat of Goa, India, so ages much quicker than Scottish and extracts every last flavour of the wood because of the heat expansion. It has an insane kick drunk neat (another cask strength) but is sensational with a tiny drop of very cold water. Nomad Outland. If you like sherry matured, I have one piece of advice - BUY THIS. It's not a particularly clever or complex drop, but it's a real sherry bomb having sat in single use Spanish Jerez casks. I got for £32 here in the UK - simply put it's the best value whisky I've ever found. Also a bottle of Four Roses small batch bourbon for variety.
