The reason why I ask this, is because France constantly produces talented footballers that participate in leagues throughout Europe. So please give me the top 3 current French youth systems/academies. Thanks.
I have heard that Auxerre had a damn fine youth academy, but Lyon...that makes sense. Lyon definately should be there....they lose players every year, but they are still very dominate.
I hesitated between OL and Monaco but this year we can see playing several talents from OL youth academy ( Benarfa,Bergougnoux,Berthod,Clément,Idangar or Benzema ) and don't forget that their young captain S.Govou (25yo) is also from the academy.
mmmmmm. I dunno. They are more good at getting marganlised players and making them good or making them play above themselves. I wouldn't say they hav a excellent youth system.
Nah, I saw something on Football Mundial about them last year and they said they were an up and coming club because of their youth system. I think I was confused about Lille and Rennes to be honest.
Rennes are similar to Lille, but in so much as they have a knack of buying quality players from abroad and selling them on for a gross profit (read Petr Cech) Won't be long before Kallstrom moves too. They have some good young players but have good scouts and agents that bring players like Frei, Isaksson, etc to the club.
Auxerre, Nantes, Lyon... Sochaux and Lille not to far away. But teams in lower divisions such as Le Havre, Montpellier and Cannes have very good academies.
Numero 1: Rennes: Faty, Bourillon, Didot, Gourcuff, Mvuemba, Briand, N'Guema 2) Lyon: Berthod, Clement, Ben Arfa, Benzema, Bergougnoux, Idangar 3) Auxerre, Sochaux , Nantes , Lille
No Rennes have excellent scouts though not youth system. Sure they bring up some French players through their system like other clubs but they're not in top 3. What they especialize in is they buy AMAZING players who will leave for bigger clubs. Just look at Cech, Isaksson, Kallstrom and Frei... none are French but all excellent players and Frei could constantly be top-scorer in this league and maybe even in a better league if he played with a better team. I'd say 1) Nantes 2) Auxurre 3) Lyon or Sochaux
Rennes has a long tradition of having players selected in the U-23 MNT. I can't tell where they stand, but they're not that far from the top...
Look at their squad. The majority are from the youth system. They have alway has produced good French players. At the beginning of the eyar, many Nantes fans were complaining at the lack of ambition by the club, by picking alot of players from the youth system and not buying some more experienced players. Quite frankly, I think in a few years if they stay togther, they will have a good team. The next kid to watch from that youth system is the young Romanian Claudiu Keserü.
Keserü has been bought 2M€ last year, so i would not say he come from their youth academy. They have lost many key players at the beginning of the year, and to play with a lot of young players in the squad do not mean they are good. Only Toulalan, Fae and maybe Drouin are worth, imo. Though i am a Rennes fan
1. AJ AUXERRE 2. FC NANTES 3. OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS Nevertheless the 2 ever bests players in France were trained in AS Nancy (Michel Platini) and AS Cannes (Zinédine Zidane).
