HDNet broadcasts are not part of MLSnet.com online streaming video service. Think of MLSnet.com's streaming video as "Direct Kick through your computer instead of TV." If it is a Direct Kick broadcast (regionally or locally televised), then it'll be online. If it's a national network (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes ABC, FSC, TeleFutura, or HDNet), that broadcast will not be part of the service. Interestingly, the schedule at www.thecrew.com has a few games on ONN and either TeleFutura or HDNet. The main league schedule at www.mlsnet.com says those games are only on the national channels. One of three things will probably happen: 1) The games will be available only locally through ONN while people "out of market" must watch on the national channel. 2) The games will not be on ONN. 3) As is in the past, the games will available nationally on HDNet, and on Direct Kick, using a regional broadcaster.
Just come to Fado's. Other than that Claddagh will be showing them soon, but not today. Worryingly for Fado's, word on the street is they're going to have <shock>drink specials</shock>
What about other Crew friendly venues? Namely: 1) Keegan's 2) Ruby Tuesday 3) The Official Away Home of the Crew: That place on Kenny. Do any or all have HDnet?
I believe that CSU is in an agreement with Keegan's and Fado where those two pubs alternate. This week, people are generally going to show up at Fado. I don't know about Ruby. There is a viewing party at Brewsky's at 4510 Kenny Rd.
Krypto is generally right about the agreement, but it's not entirely alternating. (Full CSU viewing party schedule) We'll be at Fado since they are one of the few bars in Cbus with HDNet that also want to show the match. 1) Keegan's doesn't have HDNet 2) Can't speak for Ruby Tuesday, but I'm pretty sure they don't 3) Could care less if Brewsky's has it, but doubt they do. Bottem Line is that if you want to be sure you get to watch and listen to this game tonight you're best option is Fado.
(posting this just for the hell of it...I'll buy a beer for anyone that comes in Crew gear) Join Crew Supporters Union Local 202 at: Babylon Futbol Cafe 3501 South Jefferson Street Falls Church,VA 22041 http://babylonfc.com/ They have HDNET, have agreed to turn it on any TV for us w/audio until their club mix goes live at 10pm. However, they have assured me that the game will stay on whichever tube we want for the full 90 minutes. We'll be arriving around 8 to watch the 1st half of DC/Chivas Guadelajara in SuperLiga.
Changing what I previously posted about Brewsky's, the official Crew viewing party (as well as CSU's) is at Fado this week. Everyone in Columbus, go to Fado. It's that simple.
i just found out my buddy has an 82inch projector and HDnet. heck, i might try to talk him into hosting the "official" viewing party for the next HDnet game.
Sounds like someplace should consider becoming the 2009 Official Away Game headquarters for the Crew...
Too much money, even for Fado's corporate budget. Anyone who knows anything should know that it's a better place to watch than Brewsky's or BW3's or Chammpps or (insert next crappy sports bar) anyway.
