Jets need to discount ticket prices or give some away for free because there were way too many empty seats at MetLife Stadium & way too many Bills fans in building. Bills defensive players were actually waving their arms to rile up the crowd because there were so many Bills fans— Manish Mehta (@MMehtaSports) September 9, 2019
This shouldn't be a surprise. LA didn't need one NFL team, let alone two. Like with the Raiders, I can't believe there are any Chargers fans left at all.
Raiders don’t surprise me. Their fans have endured two moves already. Anyone left doesn’t care about location. It’s all about the Raider persona at this point. Chargers don’t have many fans left, certainly not in San Diego. Their ratings have been halved in SD so it’s been a quantifiable loss. And a larger number of those still paying them mind are hate watching. Heck one of the ticketing websites did one of those favorite team by county nationwide maps and the Rams are now San Diego’s team. Only place the Chargers seem to have any appreciable fan base proportionally is Imperial County.
Maybe things will change over time, it never seemed like their move was going to be successful. It seems incredibly stupid to me that the NFL didn't pony up collectively to do something about San Diego. They could easily have afforded renovations new construction. But they tried to cheat a city that has a lot of other, far more important issues. Good for San Diego for not caving to the league. Too bad Santa Clara took the bait with the 9ers, thanks in large part to public officials who were essentially bought and paid for.
. . . Something unique and original will disappear next year when the Oakland Raiders cease to exist; something corporate and soulless will be replacing it . . . https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/27583957/brown-no-brown-raiders-faithful-got-mnf-send-deserved
I’d have more feeling for Oakland losing the Raiders if I hadn’t seen Oakland and Los Angeles both lose the Raiders already in my lifetime. They’re the ultimate carpetbagger team of the modern era who don’t really care what city they call home. They’re as close to a traveling team the modern NFL can produce.

Our society seems to currently have an idea that any mistake a person makes must follow them for the rest of their life, and that they must be denied all future opportunity. The man broke no law, and though he made a poor decision, I don't see why that disqualifies him from being a tennis coach. We already stripped him of his job, depriving him of his livelihood. We are a terribly punitive society that offers no forgiveness, and no opportunity for redemption. Very ugly stuff. I assume his detractors will not be satisfied until he's living in a tent along the Guadalupe or he kills himself?
Jets make trade for Patriots receiver, and within days Jets QB sidelined with mono. Coincidence? Demaryius Thomas was carrying mono. pic.twitter.com/xkRH9toMSC— Pat Thorman (@Pat_Thorman) September 12, 2019
