What's the point of trading Bumgarner if they may need him down the line?

Even though he'll turn 30 later this week*, the pitcher in baseball is kind of like the goalkeeper in soccer in that on average, they generally play to an older age than the position (baseball)/field (soccer) players do. :)

    * Yet more proof that I'm old, considering that he was born about 1 1/2 months after I graduated from high school. :(

So why trade him now and not in November or December? Are they really going to get something more in return?

Ranch dressing is a menace. First it pollutes chicken wings, and now salsa? :)

Assuming Bumgarner doesn't hit free agency after the season is over, you still typically get a better return on players at the "trade deadline" since teams are hedging their bets on making the playoffs. Whether or not they'll actually get a better return is always a question, but Bumgarner's quality means a team hoping to make it deep in the playoffs might give you quite a bit.

Plus, the Giants' farm system is extremely depleted right now and they're going to want to restock it as much as possible. Odds are the Giants don't make the playoffs with or without him. Trading him will probably guarantee they don't, but if they didn't plan on a playoff appearance this year and they plan to be competitive in the near future, trading him makes the most sense.

    Is Costco pizza any good?

It's pretty good, though thus far I've only eaten the pizza there once or twice (as with the BBQ brisket sandwich there, which is also delicious but a bit messy).

The two places I mainly get my pizza from are (when money is tight, which has been most of the time in the last year or two :() at the Walmart pizza counters that sell by the slice (some Walmart stores do, while others don't) at $1.50 plus tax, and (in the few times the last year or two when money wasn't as much of a concern) from Domino's, whose pizza is even tastier but who don't sell by the slice, so I'll buy a whole pizza for my parents and I.

However, Costco is my go-to destination for hot dogs for the reasons here, which I posted after attending the 2015 San Jose Earthquakes - Orlando City SC game at Levi's Stadium. :inlove:

Just curious: where do you buy your favorite pizzas and hot dogs from? :)

    That's cool. :)

My current financial situation has forced me to be picky too, not so much with taste but with price. :(

    Sorry about that. :(

Yes. I make a pilgrimmage to Bocce's whenever I'm in Buffalo. I'm less religious about Ted's, but my brother has multiple meals there whenever he visits. Both are institutions known by every sentient local.

Continuing on with Costco (albeit not its food court this time):

Costco also has the best rotisserie chicken, as well as the best store-bought potato salad when its available, which for some reason it sometimes isn't. Perhaps not as good as the potato salad that my mom made or that my dad's aunt made, of course, but it's currently the best available since my mom is now both elderly and ill while my dad's aunt passed away 21 years ago.

You should perhaps speak with the owners there to allow you to open up franchises in San José.
